Sermons for Preaching

Title: Don't Have Money or Two Clothes

Contents

1. Words that begin

The Lord Jesus selected as disciples those who had the basic humanity, spirituality, temperament and qualities for evangelism, and educated and trained them while living together. One day, he sent his disciples on a missionary field trip.

2. Jesus Giving Spiritual Power and Spiritual Power to the Twelve Disciples

The Lord Jesus called the twelve disciples together before sending them out, and gave them authority over all demons and the ability to heal. Not any sage or sage, moral man or sage, philosopher or scientist, Principal or leader of every field, but through the Holy Spirit, He gave us spiritual power and spiritual power such as healing and healing.

The Greek word for “demons” is daimonia (δαιμ?νια), which means evil and unclean spirits, who are the servants of Satan, the devil. These evil and unclean spirits not only make people's hearts sick, but they also make their bodies sick, making it impossible to lead a normal life. The suffering of the family as a result is also not in vain. Diseases caused by these spirits are different from general diseases, so there is no accurate diagnosis and no medical treatment. It's usually referred to as neurosis or something neurotic.

A few days ago, a female doctor in residency called me crying and saying I couldn't do anything because I was so nervous. After seeing the divination, I felt strangely anxious, anxious, and scared, and then it got worse and worse, and now, about five days ago, I can't do anything. It's a good way to meet a real godly fortune teller, not a fake. So when I briefly explained the spiritual phenomenon, I asked him if he had a headache, was heavy as if his body and mind were crushed, and he was helpless, and he said yes. I would have prayed over the phone, but if there is any change during prayer, such as trembling, weakness, or body heat, my prayer feet are listening, so I told them not to worry and prayed for about 10 minutes. Feeling the powerful work of the Holy Spirit during prayer, the female doctor who received the prayer said, “I lost some energy during prayer. Now, my head is a little clearer and my body feels a little lighter.” He said that he would be well soon. The next day, “That day, everything was fine. It's really, really exciting.”

Spreading the kingdom of God is more important than casting out unclean spirits and healing the sick. The Greek word for “Kingdom of God” is ten basileian tu teu (τ?ν βασιλε?αν το? θεο?), which refers to the kingdom of heaven where those who believe in the Lord Jesus are resurrected after death and the reign of God that began in earnest with the advent of the Lord Jesus. instructional word. Before we die and enter the kingdom of heaven, we must live like citizens of heaven by allowing God's reign to be established in our hearts. May we all follow God's rule so that our homes and workplaces become heaven.

Preaching the kingdom of God, the gospel of Jesus Christ, is not only through words, but by living in obedience to the rule of God. May we all live in obedience to the Word in the Lord according to the Holy Spirit.

3. Jesus Commands the Twelve Disciples

The Lord Jesus, who sent out the twelve disciples, commanded them. It is not to take anything for a missionary trip. He told me not to have a staff that I carry with me when I travel, but also use it as a weapon when in danger. The Greek word for “pocket”, feran (π?ραν), refers to a backpack or large bag to hold things. He told them not to have food or money. The Greek word for “clothes”, chitonas (χιτ?να?), refers to underwear made of wool or linen.

CR Erdman, who commented on the Gospel of Mark, said, “The special instruction given to the twelve disciples is practical, but not meant to indicate poverty or to cause them to experience any special difficulties. . . . . . . It should not be done, and the burden should not be heavy with unnecessary conduct. If they preach the gospel and bring peace, those who receive it will receive treatment. A true messenger of Christ must always be folk, always ready to work, not be undue undue hindrance by the affairs of this world, but must be paid in it.”

This problem is not very difficult. In the ancient East, hospitality was a sacred duty. When a stranger entered a village, hospitality was the duty of that village, so there was no need to ask for it. Moreover, one of the important duties of church members toward missionaries was to provide hospitality to them (3 John 5). Therefore, the attitude of the missionary journey that the disciples must have is the ultimate trust in God, who provides what they need when they need it in any way. In that sense, Jesus said, “Whatever house you enter, stay there, and then leave.”

When it comes to how disciples on a missionary journey decide where to stay, Matthew said, “find out among them those who are worthy” (Matthew 10:11). Anyway, once you have decided on a house to stay in, you should be satisfied with the hospitality of the house and use it as a base for evangelism. If you are dissatisfied with the hospitality and move from house to house in order to receive better treatment, you will feel embarrassment and displeasure for the first family, and it will also hinder the mission of the gospel.

Jesus said, "If anyone does not receive you, shake the dust from your feet when you leave the city, as a testimony to them." This is not to express personal anger or malice, but to show that you have nothing to do with the people of the area and the gospel of the kingdom.

4. Conclusion

The purpose of the Lord Jesus calling the twelve disciples, educating and training them while living together, and giving them spiritual power and spiritual power is to live worthy of the gospel of the kingdom and preach the gospel. We, who have been saved by believing in the gospel through the work of the Holy Spirit and become citizens of Heaven, should regard that field as the missionary stage and work with a missionary consciousness no matter what field we are engaged in. We must cast away excessive greed for worldly things that are harmful to evangelism, and follow the Holy Spirit in the Lord and obey the Word. May we all live a life of evangelism.
