Title: Don't Live In vain
Exodus (36) Do not live in vain (Exodus 14:10-14)
<Don't look back>
In a situation where the Red Sea was in front of them and the Egyptian army was behind them, the Israelites regretted their exodus and looked at their lives in Egypt (verse 12). Then Moses said twice, “Stand still!” (verses 13-14). If you wait quietly for God's time while praying, God will surely change your situation. God works ‘in man’ before he works ‘through man’. So, if the soul overflows with gratitude and praise, then the history of victory begins.
Even if you face hardships, do not complain or look back and look to the land of Canaan. Don't just look at the problem, look at the God behind the problem. Even when thick clouds cover the sun, the sun is still there. The bigger the problem, the more abundantly God's love and power will be prepared. Even if I can't, God can. Therefore, no matter how difficult it is, do not forget the thrill and grace of salvation and do not turn your heart to the past.
Even after marriage, you can never be happy when you think of your past lover. Even after being saved like that, if you still look at the world, you cannot be happy. Don't dwell on past failures and mistakes and say "I'll do it then...". Of course, it could have been better if you did. However, think of God's good will even in the failures caused by not doing so, and the grace of opening your heart to God more because of those failures.
Aim for the future person, not the past person. If you cling to the past, you will not be able to move toward the future. Don't cling to the good past. Then you will be caught up in pride and self-confidence, and you will fail. Conversely, don't cling to the bad past. Then you get caught up in a feeling of inferiority and lose confidence in everything. When the present is difficult, you will sometimes think, “What was it like in the past!”, but erase those old thoughts and spread your wings of hope. No matter how desperate the situation is, if you do not give up hope, a miracle like a dream will appear.
<Don't live in vain>
In particular, the words “Stand still!” in the main text are essential for the Korean church that pursues revivalism. The Korean church is almost the only one in the world that even has an accelerated Bible reading program. However, it is far better to read the Bible consistently every day than to read the entire Bible in three or four days. Words are food, and food is good for health if you eat it in moderation and eat it consistently. How many accidents and how many homes and souls are ruined because of the Korean phrase “quickly!”
There is one thing that fortress husbands hate more than going to war. My wife is following the department store. But these days, if you don't follow me at the department store, I'm the husband of the bakery, so I follow along and play the role of a porter, but I can't wait patiently and urge them to "buy it quickly and go home!" Those “quickly!” words end up ruining the couple and becoming a hugely humiliating factor later on. There is also some humor that these days wives don't want their husbands to wake up after they retire and turn 70. It hurts my heart to accept that it is just humor because it seems to represent the current state of affairs.
If you live too fast, you will quickly fall apart. So, the source of God's blessings is the life of keeping the Lord's Day and a life of being close to the Word and prayer in the first hour of the day. If we ignore even those times and focus on work and study, God cannot work. Now, set aside a certain amount of time a day for the Word and prayer, and work hard for 6 days in a weekly life and take a full day off. Also, when you have a break, don't just watch TV, but worship God while thinking about life and the meaning of life. Make your break time a time for re-creation.
It is good to be busy, but you must not be so busy that you do not have time for the Word and prayer. Now, change your life pattern from ‘a life of being chased in a hurry’ to ‘a life of pursuing a mission’. What God has called me to do is to accomplish God's will and feel happy and rewarding by doing it, not to do it until I lose my time to worship and pray. So always pray like this. "God! Build a foundation upon that which shakes, so that it does not fall as it does when it falls, but that it may stand firm on your rock!
You lose when your legs are lifted in Ssireum. No matter how busy you are, your legs must not fall from the rock of God. If you deviate from God, Satan will immediately attack you. Now, before being recognized through outward fulfillment, first receive God's approval through a life of worship and prayer. Then, even if a great crisis in your life comes, the crisis will become an opportunity. In the process of overcoming the crisis, you will experience the grace of faith and the grace of meeting, and you will eventually become the protagonist of the blessing of believing in Jesus and becoming a person.
