Title: Dongyeok, that beautiful name
Contents
In the last chapter of Romans, the apostle Paul introduces the workers who labored with him for the church. Among the people introduced in the text were men and women. Nine female names appear. There are young people and there are old people, there are single people and there are couples. There are nobles and there are slaves. There are educated people and there are ignorant people. Their background, education, wealth, and occupation are all different, but if there is one thing they have in common, they are people who are gathered for the name of the Lord, and they are workers who do the Lord's work. Through today's text, I try to gain the wisdom of faith by thinking about how they came to be recognized by the Apostle Paul and who the true church workers were.
If there is one word that appears most frequently in the text, it is the word “in Christ”. These words are the core of Paul's theology, and Paul's confession of faith. What does it mean to be people in Christ? First of all, they mean a person who has personally met Christ. Those who accept Christ as their Savior and confess Christ as Lord of their lives are those who are in Christ. Second, to be a man in Christ means to remain abiding in Christ. A person who not only accepted Christ as their Savior, but also serves and worships Christ without departing from Him. Third, the word “one who is in Christ” refers to a person who bears witness to Christ. It is the people in Christ who testify that Christ is their Lord and that only by believing in Him can we be saved. The ministers of the church must be those who are in Christ. If you do not have faith because you have not yet received Jesus Christ as your savior, you can work, but you cannot fulfill the role of a true worker.
Also, a servant of Christ is one who is in Christ and also serves others. The church is literally a community. The church is a community saved by the blood of Jesus Christ, that is, a gathering of people who believe in Jesus Christ as their Savior. The church has the glory of the Lord. The church must be alive. Just because a lot of people gather doesn't mean it has vitality. Even if there is little gathering, there is a vital community. what kind of community A community of people who love Jesus Christ must show vitality. And a community of vitality where people who love Jesus are gathered love and serve others.
East is a beautiful thing. Even serving in one church, there are people who growl, envy, and jealous of each other. There is a church that encourages, encourages, loves, and respects that each other can do it even if it is very difficult and difficult because there is a lot of church debt. Which church will be the happy church, and which church will be? Which church really has a vision?
