Title: Double Blessing
Contents
The first half of the book of Job is filled with the trials and tribulations of Job and the abandonment of his wife and friends. However, in the second half, it is recorded that they were restored and changed into a blessed life. The secret of Job's blessing is that the Lord was pleased with him (verse 9). Like Job, receiving the blessing of being prosperous and prosperous depends on his relationship with God. Because Job was pleasing to God, the trials that Job suffered disappeared like a mist. What kind of life should we imitate Job?
First, you must experience God (verse 5).
Job confessed, “The ear only heard, but now the eye sees you.” His house collapsed, his children died, his entire family was devastated, his wife left, and his friends slandered him. He lived a miserable life, but he met the living God, Almighty God. It has changed from the abstract and ideological faith before suffering to an experiential faith and a realistic faith. He was a distant God, but through suffering, he experienced a God who rebuked, comforted, and healed. We must break away from ideological beliefs and have an experiential faith that we see with our own eyes. Suffering to experience and meet God is a blessing. Just as it is better to see once with your eyes than to hear with your ears a hundred times, so it is better to see with your eyes than with your intellectual faith. Faith is built through experience, and you can meet God's love and power in the midst of painful pain. God loves that person, is pleased with him, and gives him a double blessing.
Second, we must live a life of repentance (verse 6).
One theologian suggested three sins for which Job repented. First, it is the sin of underestimating the power of God. The second is the sin of rationalizing oneself as righteous. Third, it is the sin of contempt for a friend. Job repented of these three things. It is a sin to complain and complain about God's actions as if God made a mistake. There are a lot of people who don't work hard and don't work hard and wish for good luck. This is a sin because it is complaining to God and shifting responsibility. Therefore, we must repent. Repentance is self-examination, acknowledgment and trust in God. Job lived a life of repentance in the dust. To be blessed, we must repent, acknowledge God, and live a life of trust.
Third, we must achieve reconciliation (verse 10).
When Job prayed for his friends, God restored Job's plight. A person can never live alone. Whether it is between husband and wife, father and son, brothers, or friends, living together, comforting, helping, and sharing friendships is human. Living together is a life worth living. Since man can never live alone, he must be at peace. Even though his friends slandered Job, as Job later prayed for his friends (verse 10), we must lead a harmonious life.
Let me conclude.
What would have happened to Job when he was tempted? Job, who experienced God, repented, and achieved reconciliation, God restored his predicament and accomplished (1) restoration. Difficulties are never meant to be hard work, it is God's absolute sovereignty and God's work. Also, he received a double blessing. Problems with property, health, and children have been resolved, and we are blessed with double happiness. Therefore, we believe that we must live a life of experiencing God, a life of repentance, and a life of reconciliation, like Job, to become mature Christians who are pleasing to God.
