Title: Dream through the Cross
Bible: Isaiah 53:10-12
2010.3.14.daytime
On the occasion of Lent, I pray that God's great grace and the work of salvation will be with you all who participate in the suffering of the Lord.
As I spend Lent, I think a lot. Why do we really believe in Jesus and how do we believe in Jesus?
Glory without the cross. Are you hoping for a resurrection without death? no cross no crown
There was a poor child who did not know the date of birth and had no name, and was sold for the price of a horse, a boy who passed the threshold of death several times because of weakness, and a scholar who studied and studied while sleeping at night for his people while going through years of hunger and hunger.
He did not advocate for black people's rights, but it was the man who changed their lives, Dr. Peanut George Washington Carver.
His motivation for doing so was a word from Aunt Mary.
“You have to study hard and teach your people. Remember, our people are so hungry for learning.”
Carver turned down a huge salary offer and made the achievements of his hard work available to all blacks without asking for anything in return or remuneration. The goal is not to succeed, but to share what we have learned to serve our neighbors.
Why did the Lord come to this earth?
You came to suffer. He came to carry the cross. Why did you come to suffer? Because there was no other way to save mankind.
We live our lives with many dreams. Everyone wants to make that dream come true. If possible, make your dreams come true in a comfortable way. But Jesus made his dream come true through the cross. Then we too must learn how to make our dreams come true through the cross.
1. Let God's will become a dream.
Our Savior, Jesus Christ, is the will of God and the dream of the Lord.
“The Lord wanted him to be bruised, so that he should be afflicted.”
Where do our dreams come from? Do you come from the world? Or does it come from the desires of the flesh? We need to look closely at the source of our dreams. Our dreams must come down from God.
If it comes from God, even if it causes me a lot of pain, I have to walk that path.
So was Abraham, so was Joseph, and so was David. It was Peter, and so was the Apostle Paul. They walked in the same way that God's will became a dream. Even on the path of suffering on the cross, he did not hesitate.
Henri Nouen resigned as a professor at Harvard University and decided to dedicate himself to one or two people with mental disabilities. Because that was the will of God.
When I went out to become a general, my physical dream, I failed because of my subordinates' defection. However, I became happy when I walked the path of the servant of the Lord, which is the will of God.
What was Jehovah's will to our Lord?
It was to cause him to be bruised and to be afflicted. So the Lord fulfilled the will of the Lord with his hand.
“By his hand he will do the will of the LORD.”
Dear saints, May the will of Jehovah God be your dreams.
2. Take up your cross with joy.
Because it is through the cross that dreams come true.
“When he comes to offer his soul as a trespass offering, he will see seed...”
“He will see the toil of his soul and be satisfied.”
Jesus was pleased to take up the cross and took his labor for granted.
The Apostle Paul also carried the cross with joy.
All of Jesus' disciples -- except for Judas Iscariot -- carried the cross with joy.
If we are true disciples of the Lord, we should bear the cross with joy.
Jesus' prayer in the Garden of Gethsemane was an example of obedience to fulfill the Father's will and his dream.
C C M praise
Almighty my father!
He was pierced for our transgressions, and he was bruised for our iniquities.
Because of his chastisement we have peace;
we are healed
The Apostle Paul said that there is nothing to boast about except in the cross. A dream that comes from God is sometimes accompanied by suffering, and it is to carry the cross with joy, even if it is the road to take.
3. The dream of saving life through death comes true.
Our Jesus saved many lives and saved all mankind through his own death.
“For he gave up his soul to death, and was numbered as one of the transgressors. But he bore the sins of many and prayed for transgressors.”
Life begets life. Through the life of Abel, Seth was born, and through the death of Jesus Christ, many human beings came to life.
What is the dream of our Jesus? All mankind will be saved. Wouldn't it be great if the dream of saving mankind in the easiest way would come true? However, Jesus was pleased to give his own life, because the work of saving human life is to gain life by giving the life of the Lord.
If a grain of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it bears much fruit and remains a single grain unless it dies. Our Jesus became a grain of wheat and died so that many lives could be saved.
The land of Canaan, flowing with milk and honey, was the dream of the Israelites for 430 years while they were slaves in Egypt. But that dream just didn't come true. They were freed only after paying the price of the 10 plagues and the death of people, cattle, and the firstborn son of Pharaoh throughout Egypt.
And it was a dream that could only be realized after passing through the wilderness for 40 years. In the process, all those who obeyed God fulfilled that dream. But all those who constantly complained and grumbled did not see the dream and died in the wilderness.
Therefore, we should not complain until our dreams come true. You shouldn't even complain. It is simply obedience. Then, the Red Sea splits and crosses, passes through the wild wilderness infested with fiery serpents, crosses the Jordan River, and destroys the walls of Jericho, and finally enters the land of Canaan, which is dreamed of.
conclusion
Lent. May all your dreams come true. But those dreams do not come true for us in an easy way. Dreams are paid for.
The dream of God and our Jesus was to save mankind. All those dreams came true under the cross. And it was made possible by eating life through the death of Christ.
