Bible text: Ezekiel 37:1-10
dry bones come to life
Who would believe it if someone said that it had been dead for a long time and only bones were left, and a corpse hit the bone and the body came to life? It is an unrealistic story that human reason cannot tolerate. However, the Bible is full of such stories. “...as soon as the body touched Elisha's bones, he was revived and stood up” (2 Kings 13:21). The body of the dead was thrown into the tomb where the prophet Elisha had died and was buried, but the body came to life. Who is Elisha? As a disciple of Elijah, he was a prophet who received twice the inspiration of his teacher. Elijah performed eight miracles, and Elisha performed sixteen miracles.
God took Ezekiel down into the valley. He showed me dry bones scattered everywhere. “They had very many bones, and they were very dry” (verse 2). These words showed the reality of the Jewish nation, neither those who were exiled to Babylon nor those who remained, nor the hope of the nation nor the future of the nation. God said to these desperate bones, “You will live, you will live” (verses 5 and 6). In the second half of verse 10, it says, “…they came to life and stood up, and it was an extremely large army.” Dry bones are a ruined country and a ruined person. How can dry bones come to life?
You will be resurrected by power.
“The Lord came upon me with power…” (verse 1) It is the power that makes dry bones come to life. The power referred to here is not the power of man, but the creative power of God and the power of resurrection to raise the dead. Power is associated with the Holy Spirit. “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth” (Acts 1:8). That power is the power in the Holy Spirit.
The power of God comes with the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit must come upon me to receive power. That power is the ability to heal all weaknesses (Matthew 10:1). It is the ability to change and renew. It is the ability to make the impossible possible. Stephen was able to perform wonders and signs because he was full of grace and power (Acts 6:8).
The Holy Spirit gives power. This is God's power, not human power. It is the ability to save lives and the ability to do things that save lives. “It is the Spirit that gives life; the flesh is of no avail” (John 6:63).
Dry bones are absolute despair without hope and without life. It is the crystal of death. It is a field that cannot be saved without the power of Almighty God. The power of God that came to Ezekiel made him believe that the impossible was possible and challenged the impossible. It is the belief that you can survive and that it can happen. The mind of the Spirit is life. It is because of Jehovah's power that I have faith that dry bones can come to life. You must receive the Holy Spirit. To receive the Holy Spirit is to receive power. The Holy Spirit comes on those who ask, and on those who wait. The reason we did not receive the Holy Spirit is because we did not ask for it, and we did not wait.
Jesus said to his disciples, who will preach the gospel of the kingdom and establish the kingdom of God, “Behold, I am sending to you what my Father promised, so stay in this city until you are clothed with power from on high” (Luke 24:49).
Jesus also quoted the writings of Isaiah before starting his ministry. “The Holy Spirit of the Lord has come upon me because he has anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor and has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives and restoration of sight to the blind, and the year of the Lord's favor to set the oppressed free. The dry bones that Ezekiel saw were the captives and the blind.” (Luke 4:18-19) It is a “year of grace” when slaves are set free and debtors are forgiven. “It is not by might, nor by might, but by my god. What are you, great mountain, that you shall become a plain before Zerubbabel” (Zechariah 4:6-7). Zerubbabel is the Spirit of the Lord, the God of God’s power. is the person of May the power of God come upon you and experience the joy of being alive.
You are saved by the prophecy.
A prophecy is saying instead. It's not about expressing your own opinion, it's about conveying the words of the person who told you to speak. A preacher is one who speaks the word of God. The prophet must believe this word given through Isaiah. “As rain and snow come down from heaven and do not go there again, but water the land and bring it to fruition, to give seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so the words that go out of my mouth return to me in vain. He will not come, but will accomplish my will, and will prosper in the work for which I sent you. If you go on with joy, you will be guided in peace...” (Isaiah 55:10-12) The word of God does not come back. It means doing everything God has told you to do. To live a life of joy, a life of peace.
“And he said to me, Prophesy to all these bones, and say, ‘Hear the word of the Lord, ye dry bones’” (verse 4). “Then I prophesied as I was commanded, and as I was prophesying, there was a sound and it moved, and bones came together, and bones came into contact” (verse 7). When I prophesied according to God’s command, the bones moved with a sound, and the bones joined together. that it has become
There is something called the “placebo effect”. If you give a fake medicine made from wheat flour or nutritional supplements that has no efficacy or effect to the patient and say, “If you take it at the right time, it will definitely work.”
A preacher is one who believes and prophesies the true Word of God. A preacher should be an orator rather than an orator. We must not speak our own thoughts, but we must receive the word from God and preach the word that has been put into our mouth. When that happens, ministry is not difficult, but easy and enjoyable. Because if you prophesy only the Word of God, the Word will work.
As the apostle Paul left the mission field, he said, “Remember that I admonished each one for three years, day and night, without ceasing; now I entrust you to the Lord and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up and give you an inheritance. ” (Acts 20:30-31).
Many bones are the sites where the consciousness of defeat is driven. First, you need to get rid of the sense of defeat. About 100 years ago, an American missionary came to Korea and saw that it was dry bones. It was a very poor country, there was nothing but idolatry, and they drank, gambled, and married. There, he prophesied, “Believe in Jesus, you must believe.” Even in the condition of dry bones, if the Word is delivered, the bones will move and the dry bones will come to life. Hear the words of the prophecy that revives dry bones, and those who hear will live!
It comes alive with vitality.
Revitalizes dry bones. Vitality is a fresh and energetic energy. Qi is an active force. It is the energy that comes out when you breathe. The source of creation is vitality. “Thus says the Lord GOD to the bones, I will cause breath to enter you, and you will live. I will put sinews on you and clothe you with flesh and cover you with skin, and I will put breath within you, and you will live…” (verses 5-6).
When God created man in the beginning, he formed a body from the dust and breathed life into his nostrils to become a living soul (Genesis 2:7). The living spirit means that the spirit and the body become one. He became a breathing mountain man. “Then he said to me, “Son of man, prophesy to the breath, and prophesy to the breath, saying, ‘This is what the Sovereign LORD says, Come from the four winds, and blow on these slain, that they may live. As soon as we entered them, they came to life and stood up and stood, a great army” (verses 9-10).
Vitality (Rah) means wind, breath, and is life. It is invisible, but the life force that is the source of activity. It is the breath that God breathes out. You have to take that breath and drink it to live.
Professor Lee Wang-jae of Seoul National University College of Medicine runs 10 kilometers along the Han River every day. He says that the source of his passion and ideas are Vitamin C and Marathon. I am a so-called vitamin evangelist who preaches to eat vitamins every day. It is recommended to eat three times a day at every meal.
When vitality enters, it becomes a living body and an active body. A lively person has a bright face, a lively footstep, and a roaring voice.
The dry bones that are formed become the army of God. If there is vitality, they become God's army, and if there is no vitality, they become prisoners of the enemy. “Those who believe are like soldiers, so let’s follow the Lord who has gone before us.” You must have vitality to become a warrior who follows the Captain Jesus. The lifeless stick floats down. A live fish hits and rises against the water. Only when there is vitality can we obey God and resist the devil.
“He said to me, Son of man, can these bones live?” I answered, “Lord GOD, you know” (verse 3). You are showing the discernment to answer that you wear Those who do not know neither the power of God nor the Holy Spirit judge without knowing it. There is no spiritual discernment. But “I do not know Ezekiel. The Lord knows.” This is the spiritual recognition of those who have received Jehovah's power.
Dry bones come alive. I am alive by the power of Jehovah. Jesus said, “Didn't I say that if you believe you will see the glory of God?” (John 11:40). If you believe, you will live. In front of the tomb of Lazarus, Jesus told him to remove the stone from the tomb. We need to remove the stone of defeat and disbelief and put it back. When the power of the Almighty comes upon us too, we will come to life. You are saved by the word of prophecy. I hope that you will come alive through the words of prophecy during worship. When life enters, it comes alive. Please live and become the army of God.
