Title: Easter: A Sense of Beauty (7)
Easter: A Sense of Beauty (7)
Text/ Luke 24:1-53, John 14:21
1. Introduction
In the meantime, I talked about aesthetics, but when I looked at the calendar, April 20 was Easter Sunday. We would like to share the grace with you by meditating on Easter from an aesthetic point of view. I am beautiful eyes - 開眼 (open eyes) - 靈眼 (young eyes) - 慧眼 (smart eyes) - heart eyes - 智眼 (Jian eyes) - the eyes of heart - realization - awake - beauty I think that expressions such as the ability to see - the ability to see precious things as precious - aesthetic intelligence, etc. all belong to the cognate language family.
2. I want all of us to read deeply today's text.
The God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, has given you the spirit of wisdom and revelation, that you may know God, and open the eyes of your heart, what is the hope of his calling, and what is the hope of his inheritance in the saints? I pray that you may know what is the riches of glory, and what is the exceeding greatness of his power that is bestowed upon us who believe according to the mighty work of his might (Ephesians 1:17-19).
The central word of the text: I will reveal myself to him (John 14:21) - Their eyes were blinded, so that they did not recognize him (Luke 24:16) - After giving thanks, he broke the bread and gave it to them, and their eyes were opened and they knew it was him. When they found out, Jesus was invisible to them (Luke 24:31) - Open the eyes of your hearts (Ephesians 1:18).
3. 靈眼 (young eye)-Simmi-an-How do the eyes of the heart open?
first. He said, “God-Jesus will love such a person and will reveal me to him” (John 14:21). “I will show myself to him” What a subtle, subtle, mysterious word!
To those who do not love + those who do not love + those who do not know love, is it not the saying, “I will not reveal myself”! In other words, the eyes of the spirit, aesthetics, and heart that can meet and see Jesus, who is the way, the truth, and the life, will never be opened.
second. Text Luke 24: “Then he began with Moses and all the prophets, and he explained in detail what was written in all the scriptures about him (Luke 24:27)… Then they said to one another, “He spoke to us on the road, and we Were not our hearts burning within us when he opened the Scriptures to us? (24:32) And he said to them, “While I was with you, I spoke of myself in the Law of Moses, in the Prophets, and in the Psalms. This is what he said, that all things must come to pass, and he opened their hearts to understand the Scriptures (Luke 24:44-45).”
As they deeply meditate, study, and ponder the Bible (the Bible here means the Old Testament because it was before the New Testament was written, our era means both the Old and New Testaments), the Holy Spirit warms their hearts, (our hearts burning within us) He opens the eyes of the soul.
