Title: Eating out for Christians
Contents
When Jesus and his disciples went into a house and ate without washing their hands and feet while eating, the Pharisees and scribes came to Jesus and said, “Why do your disciples violate the tradition of the elders and eat food? That is, do you eat without washing your hands and feet?”
Then Jesus said to them, “Why do you transgress the commandments of God by your traditions? You say, "If anyone says to his father or mother, 'The things I have to offer for your benefit are given to God, you have no respect for their parents, so you abolish the word of God through your traditions."
He said, “You hypocrites, Isaiah prophesied well about you, saying, This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me. In vain do they worship me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.” He harshly rebuked the hypocrisy of the Pharisees.
When the Pharisees and scribes came to Jesus and accused His disciples of violating the tradition of the elders by eating without washing their hands and feet, there is, in fact, no such provision in the law. However, those who were studying the law at that time wanted to observe the law better, so they mistakenly thought that cleansing the body was a better way to obey the law, so this system was introduced.
Thus, what the elders took the lead and kept was established as the tradition of the elders. The Pharisees and the scribes are now arguing with Jesus over the matter. Then Jesus said, “You hypocrites, Isaiah prophesied well about you, saying, This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me. He rebuked their hypocrisy by saying, "It is not what goes into a man's mouth that defiles a man, but what comes out of a man's mouth defiles him." you can see
The spiritual people living under the Holy Spirit today are no different from the Jews. At that time, Jews thought that eating without washing hands and feet was considered dirty, but Christians today believe that all they need to do is go to church and find Jesus, whether there is a quarrel between husband and wife, and believe in Jesus, whether the family is broken or not.
In a word, the idea of eating out for Christians today is that they only go to church unconditionally, even if their home is broken. In a nutshell, this represents that today's Christians are simply going to church and worshiping in a formal way, regardless of God's will. you are thinking stupid
If, as the Pharisees and scribes said, washing hands and feet and eating cleans a person, wouldn't that person be much cleaner if he lived in the water every day? With that kind of logic, the logic that today's Christians can go to heaven because they believe in Jesus even if they do everything they can through their back holes is established.
However, as Jesus said, “It is not what goes in the mouth that defiles a person, but what comes out of the mouth defiles a person.” Those who do not love cannot love the Lord who came personally, and those who do not honor their parents cannot honor the Lord who came personally, and parents who cannot love their children within themselves cannot love the Lord who came personally.” will be.
How can a person who cannot love their husband or wife who can see them love the Lord who came spiritually in character, and how can a person who does not honor the parents who gave birth to them wear character and honor the Lord who came spiritually Also, how can parents who do not know how to love their own children in their hearts can love the Lord who has come in the spirit of the person who has come.
Since this does not happen naturally at home, it is clear that what Christians today do when they go to church is as clear as seeing a fire without having to check each one with their own eyes. That is why unbelievers see such behaviors of Christians and pour arrows of condemnation as they are different from the inside and outside.
Since the Pharisees and scribes must keep the tradition of the elders, no matter how much they wash their hands and feet before eating, the sins in their hearts cannot disappear. Likewise, today's Christians believe in Jesus and receive the Holy Spirit, and no matter how zealous they go to church, the sins in their hearts cannot be erased. Also, no matter how hard you go to church and worship, you cannot bring harmony to your family.
A wife should honor her husband as the Lord, husbands should love their wives as their own bodies, children should honor their parents as God, and parents should love their children as God loves sinners. But, living under sin, how can humans, wives honor their husbands, husbands love their wives, children honor their parents, and parents love their children?
What is the use of going to church for a hundred days and a thousand days without resolving these issues? The Lord is never such a God, but everyone is living a life like a gorban and seeking the Lord only with their mouths. What would be different from an unbeliever to live like this?
The wife is furious because she can't eat her husband like an enemy, the husband is abusing his wife like an animal, the children hate their parents like a grim reaper, and the parents are anxious because they can't roast their children. I growl like an angry wolf, and on Sundays, each of us goes back to church and turns into a gentle sheep, greeting everyone who sees me with courtesy and I don't know how polite I am.
Those who look at it, see them with good manners and live with boundless envy. "Ah! Can we always be reconciled like their family? How happy their family will be.” Who knows what their heart is! As they worship, they say, “Heavenly Father! Break the stubbornness of the husband, break the arrogance of the wife, help the parents like the grim reaper to have a gentle heart, and turn the rotten child into a good listener.” There is nothing wrong with the person, and he points out the other person's faults every day and prays to break the other person's stubbornness.
So what kind of prayer will come up before God? Then they come back home and go back to their original positions again. Without Christ, the problems of this family would never be solved. In today's text, we must keep in our hearts that nothing is impossible with human strength, but nothing is impossible with the power of Christ.
