Philippians 1:12

Most people are stingy with their self-evaluation. It means you don't rate yourself generously. However, when faced with a certain crisis, it is surprising that it accomplishes something unexpectedly great. “I didn’t know I had that kind of skill,” he says, admiring himself. Motivation means 'motive' or 'to move'. It means moving towards something.

An old man had a stroke and had been lying in bed for three years to get a bowel movement. A fire broke out in the house while the whole family was away for a while. When the family members were surprised, they came home and found Grandma out in the yard. When I asked who took it out, I said, “Who took it out? I'm out." When the light on the foot goes off, it starts to say "Baby is hot" and move.

What moves a person forward? The Bible we read today says “what happened to me”. What happened to him? What happened to Paul motivated him to move forward.

Adversity is an opportunity for growth.

Richard Nixon said this as he stepped down from the presidency of the United States. “All greatness is born not in happiness, but in trials.” Suffering makes a person mature. And make it stronger.

Oprah Winfrey, known as the queen of American talk shows, was born on January 29, 1954 in Corsiusco, Mississippi, to a poor black single mother. He was poor enough to grow up barefoot without a pair of shoes until the age of six. At a young age, I was sexually assaulted by my cousin and by another man. It was a vicious cycle of misery and hardship, giving birth to an illegitimate child at the young age of 14 and becoming a single mother. He's black, he's not thin, he's a fat woman, but he's a world-class figure and he's very popular.

The same salt has different effects depending on the target. If you sprinkle it on seaweed, it revives quickly, and if you sprinkle it on cabbage, it withers and dies. The same wind is completely different from ship to ship. Some ships go faster when the wind blows, and others sink when the wind blows. The same goes for hardship. For some, hardship destroys life, but for others, it is a motivation for growth.

If you stimulate yourself with hardships, you will become a motivation for growth. But if we do not overcome suffering, suffering will become a weapon of suffering and defeat. Not everyone is like that, but some people get stronger when they taste bitter. Some people suffocate under suffering. It all depends on the attitude of the person who suffers, whether or not he or she can become strong after seeing the bitter taste of suffering.

“It is good for me that I have been afflicted, that I may learn Your statutes” (Psalm 119:71). Sadness is beneficial but unpleasant. Saints benefit from suffering. Suffering makes you reverent. lead you to God. Just like children who study only when they are caught in a rod, some Christians need to suffer to come to their senses. “Before I was afflicted, I went astray, but now I keep Your word” (Psalm 119:67) “If Your law had not been my delight, I would have perished in my affliction” (Psalm 119:92).

When larch was first introduced to England, gardeners heard that it was from southern Europe and thought it should be planted in a warm place, so they made a greenhouse and planted it in it. But the larch withered day by day. The dying larch was pulled up and thrown into the compost heap. But the larch was revived there. It needed chill, not warmth.

The most beautiful wildflowers are in the high mountains. The most colorful flowers bloom on the top of the mountain where the cold wind blows. Martin Luther said to his wife, "If God had not put me in trouble, I would not have understood the meaning of the words of the Psalms." I hope you will learn the wisdom of God in the midst of suffering and grow from a child to a mature person. “I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed in us” (Romans 8:16).

Prison is your forward base.

Prison is the motive for moving forward. A prison is a hell in this world. Prison deprives us of all liberties and forces us to give up our hopes and rights. Prison is a place of despair. No matter how loud a person may be, once they are put in prison, they are discouraged and terrified.

But for Paul, prison was a forward device. If Paul did not go to prison, the epistle to Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, and Philemon, which are called prison epistles, could not be published. “I want you to know, brethren, that what happened to me made progress in the gospel.” “What happened to me” refers to what happened to him in prison. People imprisoned Paul. However, he had a different attitude and way of reacting to what had happened. The imprisonment itself was the end. The end is synonymous with despair, the dark darkness with no way out. “What happened” caused something new to happen. What he was faced with was a new exit to a new opportunity.

Paul preached the gospel from A.D. 61 to A.D. 63 and was imprisoned and tried in Rome. Although he was beaten and imprisoned, he did not give in to what had happened. I didn't give up, I cut my abandonment. “On the contrary” means “rather,” “become,” “really,” or “become.” The reason he was imprisoned in prison was to prevent the preaching of the gospel, but the fact that the gospel was preached more strongly. “For the sake of the gospel, I suffered to the point of being bound like a sinner, but the word of God was not bound” (2 Timothy 2:9).

A prison is a closed place where darkness reigns. For Paul, the prison was a forward base to receive the light of God. The prison made us pray and sing. God was with us. The best came out of the worst. Light came from the original darkness.

Persecution is the spark of expansion.

Persecution is the motive for moving forward. When a person is driven into a corner, they will exhibit unexpected abilities. If the judge reaches a dead end and it is impossible to do anything about it, even the mouse will bite the cat. Take risks and move forward. Business and the church are the same. You have to take a boat to cross the sea. You can't get on the ship unless you take the risk. Safety at sea comes from being cautious and adventurous. Safety is not without risk. There is nothing I do that is not dangerous. The same goes for marriage and business. It's dangerous to know what we eat, but we can't live if we don't eat it. People are also at risk. So you don't meet people? If people are afraid, they should leave Earth.

As you know, humans are born to be adventurers. Toddlers take risks. Your baby's first steps are adventures first. In that sense, the distance from 0 to 1 is wider than the distance from 1 to 2. Going from 0 to 1 and from nothing to Euro is the first step forward.

Lethargy or fear are both sins. The thing that stands in the way for most people is “danger” and “stop”. I'm afraid I can't step on my feet. I'm afraid I can't start. Jesus was nailed to the cross and the disciples did. He closed the door and hid. It was when the fire of the Holy Spirit came upon them that they boldly ran out.

The early church was a church that suffered persecution. However, the persecution did not destroy or weaken it, but it grew stronger and expanded. As Jesus said, “Jerusalem, and all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth” will extend and expand.

They “destroyed” the church. Annihilation means that beasts bite weak beasts. It will be annihilated and devastated by the enemy. Those who were scattered through persecution went down to Samaria to preach the gospel, and then to Damascus, they went down to Phoenicia and Cyprus to preach the gospel. He went to Antioch and preached the gospel, and a church was established, and there was grace in that church (Acts 11:23). Without persecution, I would have stayed as a local church in Jerusalem. It was the persecution that motivated them to move forward.

All rewards in life are based on adventure. The world we live in is a world of adventure. Apostle Paul's forward motivator is persecution. “We are afflicted on every side, but we do not agree; we are perplexed, but not in despair; we are persecuted, but not forsaken; we are thrown down, but not destroyed” (2 Corinthians 4:8-9). was a person.

Stagnant or forward? Status quo or adventure? What if it is difficult to maintain the status quo? These concerns and fears make even new advice unacceptable. It's hard to find a new me. Gohan is a forward motivator. It is said that life is like a direction, and you must embark on a voyage of self-discovery. The prison where I was held made me pray and sing, and God was there with me.

There are three spirits that turn your life upside down and move you forward.

First, it is the ‘death’ spirit. It's a dying or dying spirit. Howling, I must die! either to die or to bleed. err i don't know will do. “For me to live is Christ, and to die is gain” (Philippians 1:21).

Second, the ‘manding’ spirit. It is the spirit that heads to the ground. I have no money, no money. The strap of the bag is also short. Still, it hits the floor and gets up.

Third, the spirit of ‘thugs’. It's a spirit that jumps out of nowhere. Even if the righteous fall seven times, he will rise again. Nature rotates, but man must move forward. God wants us to progress, move forward. A forward oscillator is, in a word, a start-up motor. is to trigger it. Start the brunch. Now, please activate it and start again.
