Title: Elijah (1 Kings 19:1-21)

Contents The story of the Lord appearing to Elijah on Mount Horeb is introduced in this chapter. The battle at Mount Carmel ended with Elijah's victory, but Jezebel's revenge was even more intense. God appeared to Elijah, who had fled into the wilderness and was discouraged, and told him to arrive at Horeb after 40 days and nights. God, who appeared to Elijah on Mount Horeb, comforted Elijah with a small voice and told him what to do next.

1. Lost Elijah (1-8)

Elijah, who has lost his sense of triumph on Mount Carmel and is in discouragement and frustration, is introduced here. The prophet with miracles and power had not been seen, and the spirit that had stood before the people who had come was completely broken, and it was only one day that he had gone on the road to escape, showing the desperation. Elijah, victorious on Mount Carmel, was filled with anticipation and confidence that he would be able to drive the momentum and completely eliminate idolatry that was prevalent throughout the land of Israel. However, when the evil queen Jezebel came out even worse, Elijah's expectations were shattered and he fell into extreme anguish and discouragement. At this time, Elijah fled to the wilderness and tried to save his life, but he was in a state of skepticism about his faith in God, a sense of human helplessness, and a psychological state that was close to desperation. He had become a single, depressed human being.

2. God of Elijah (9-14)

1) Why are you here?

Elijah, who had volunteered to flee under the rodem tree, got bread and water from an angel and ate it. After gaining strength, he crossed the desert for forty days and nights to reach Mount Horeb. Elijah went into a cave and escaped. It was not his place in the dark den of Horeb. He received the Lord's message, but he could not overcome his doubts and was in a cave.

Our saints should always be where they should be...
