Title: Eliminate Heresy
Bible: Ephesians 4:13-14
Title: Reject heresy
Ephesians 4:13-14 ‘13. We will all become one in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God, until we reach the fullness of the stature of the stature of Christ.
14. This is so that we will no longer be children, that we may not fall into the deceitful and deceitful temptations of men and be tossed and tossed by every wind of doctrine.' - Amen.
Heresy (異端) is a Chinese character meaning different ends, and the Greek word hairesis (ai{resi") is 'to choose', which means a new claim that goes against the traditional meaning. That's right?
Acts 24:5 “We saw that this man was like a plague, a riot of all the Jews scattered throughout the world, and the head of the heresy of Nazareth.”
However, heresy that rejects the truth of the church has been created since the time of the apostles, and in the history of the church, there are three major heresies: Gnosticism, Malcionism, and Montanism.
The first person named Arius claimed that the divinity of Jesus was homoiousios, not homoousios, and was defined as a heresy at the Council of Nicaea (AD. 325). After that, numerous heresies arose, which were sometimes arranged through religious councils.
Today's era is called the last days in church history.
1 John 4:1 “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but see that the spirits are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world.” Therefore, we must discern the spirits and keep our true faith.
1. You must be sure of your own salvation
Before you hear or study heresy, you must be convinced of your own salvation. That way it doesn't vibrate. In most cases, those who have been deceived or deceived by heresy have had little confidence in their salvation from the beginning.
Psalm 125:1 “He who trusts in the Lord is like Mount Zion, which cannot be moved, but remains forever.”
1 Peter 5:9 “Be strong in the faith and resist him.”
2 Corinthians 13:5 “Examine yourselves whether you are in the faith, and prove yourselves…”
Psalm 112:8 (KJV) “I have confidence, so there is no need to fear; at last you will see your enemies destroyed.”
2. Know the will of the Lord properly
In order to be wary of and reject heresies, we must first fully understand the will of the Lord. The saying that knowledge is power also applies here. Especially in the information age, if you don't know, you get angry.
Ephesians 4:13 “And we will all become one in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God, to the point of becoming a perfect man, to the stature of the stature of the stature of Christ.”
Hosea 4:6 "My people perish for lack of knowledge..."
It is not right for the saints to seek the wisdom of the world rather than the instruction of God.
2 Timothy 4:3-4 ‘3. The time is coming when people will not receive sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate many teachers to suit their own desires. 4. And they will turn away from the truth and follow myths.”
3. Pray
Prayer must be a lifestyle of the saints that must be continued in order to retain and develop the knowledge of faith we have gained.
Mark 14:38 “Watch and pray so that you may not fall into temptation…”
1 Peter 5:8 “Be sober and watchful;
4. Do not talk to heretics and reject them
The spirit of heresy has nothing but the intention to seduce with their own claims, just like a seller who came to sell a product. That's not why we're talking.
Ephesians 4:14 “This is so that you may not be tossed and tossed by every wind of doctrine as you fall into the deceitfulness and deceitfulness of men.”
If you listen to the story of someone who has been scammed, you've heard and seen what everyone is saying that you can't help but believe. Is it cheating? Heresy is like that. Therefore, I get hurt when I try to talk and reconcile.
James 4:7 “Therefore submit yourselves to God, resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”
Titus 3:10 He even said, “After admonishing a person belonging to a cult once or twice, stay away from it.”
Once you fall into a heresy, it will be almost impossible to get out of, and you will be ruined. I pray that you will become teachers of faith as saints who can build up your faith skills so that you can reject them in advance, and who can strongly refute them.
