encourage each other
Hebrews 10:19-25
Do you know how much strength a single word of encouragement can give us to live in this turbid world? We know from experience that “encouragement” and “commendation” are great words that can rescue a person from an incredible pit. But how much do you encourage your husband or wife and the saints? Encouragement has tremendous power to save lives. Today's text is encouraging Christians who are having difficulties because they believe in Jesus.
The suffering we suffered because of Jesus 2000 years ago is something we cannot imagine now, but the weight of our sufferings living in the complex and dangerous 21st century world will not be less than the difficulties and sufferings of those days. Encouragement starts with meeting. Encouragement comes from encounters. It is not enough time to get to know each other with just one day of fellowship and encouragement that we meet on a Sunday. Therefore, regular meetings and gatherings are desperately needed.
Our Saesang Church has a small group meeting called Tender Love Care (TLC). The meaning of this meeting is ‘a meeting to make one by touching with love’. Our church's TLC meeting, which is not limited to the region, is a representative meeting for encouragement. A true meeting between each other takes place at the meeting. It was a small small group gathering at home that made the people who were persecuted for believing in Jesus the driving force that moves the world. At that meeting, we did not stop encouraging and praising each other through worship and fellowship every day.
It is impossible for us to exist as believers apart from this community.
Sometimes we hurt or get hurt again when we try to encourage. So sometimes I'm afraid to join the meeting. However, you should not stop trying to participate in the meeting. Only then can you experience the history of recovery that heals wounds.
I hope that you too will now cast off your fears and develop your faith in a gathering that encourages one another.
