Title: Endless Love (Jon 01:14-17)

Content 1. Among foreign films, there was a movie titled Endless Love. Perhaps some of us have seen it. It is a film composed of content that praises pure love that transcends circumstances and conditions. How great would it be if this was really the case, but our reality is not so. In a society where the saying that the newlyweds assaulted their newlyweds because they felt less lethargic is not a lie, it is a reality.

2. Human beings are subject to conditions. They repeatedly say that they love each other, but in reality, they do not.

They mobilized various methods to solve the problem. They used all possible methods within their common sense. And they confirmed that the source of the problem was Jonah. The only way they could survive was to pick up Jonah and throw it into the sea. I also found out

However, they tried to save Jonah if they could. However, knowing that their attempts were ineffective, they threw Jonah into the sea. What a fictional human love. It is not possible to kill Jonah's life.

.Human love has limits (14-16).

A. The crowd cried out to the LORD.

1. They had a conflict. They had sympathy for Jonah. Compassion is for everyone. Also, sympathy and love are completely different. If Jonah is thrown into the sea, Jonah's fate is obvious. They were in a situation where they could not imagine at all the expectation that they would burn them or that a miracle would happen. So, how long will this conflict be? As much as the conflict over Jonah, their obsession with their life is cut. There is no one who does not value their own life. In the end, they chose their own life over the lives of others. This is the human form. However, the Lord saved our lives by throwing his own life away.

2. They prayed.

It was asking them to save them.

It was a prayer that they did not want Jonah's blood to be ascribed to them.

3. He threw Jonah into the water. It was the judgment that was given to Jonah.

4. They made sacrifices to the Lord. It was an act for them.

B. There are clear limits to our love.

1. When you do something, you try to determine whether it is beneficial or harmful to yourself first. And if it is harmful, you never try to do it.

2. Even when a friend asks for a favor or receives a similar request from others, if it harms you, you will never take on the task. And it is decided that such an action is extremely natural.

Through the attitude of the people in the boat, they, too, at one time tried to save Jonah, but in the end they threw Jonah into the sea. We saw through their actions that there is a limit to human love. Next, let's look at the love of God.

.God's love has no end (17).

A. He prepared a big fish for Jonah.

1. He was thrown into the water as a result of disobeying God's command. Therefore, his punishment was natural.

2. God never judged him. The process of Jonah being thrown into the water was not a judgment but a process of pure repentance. When we truly repent, God exempts us from judgment.

3. He prepared measures for Jonah.

He prepared a large fish.

Jonah was to be swallowed up. However, life was not affected.

B. God's love for us has no end.

1. God loves us just like a father who truly loved his second son who squandered his fortune.

2. He prepared the cross of Jesus Christ for humans who challenged God through disobedience. Just as He prepared fish for Jonah.

Conclusion The people on the boat with Jonah were worried in the face of the storm, but they sympathized with Jonah's only plight. So they tried to save Jonah somehow. They eventually gave up their sympathy for Jonah when they realized that their efforts were in vain.

After all, there is a limit to human sympathy, because no one wants to sympathize with others until they give up their own lives.

But God's love has no limits. The Lord has already prepared a fish for Jonah. God's love for us is not improvised. It is precise and thorough. Were we annoyed with people and sometimes did not try to run away like Jonah? Each time, God uses the whip of love to awaken us so that we can turn from the process of rebellion and death to the process of love and life. Let's praise God who loves us with endless love.
