Title: Enjoy peace (John 14:27)

Contents

enjoy peace

John 14:27

The whole country is anxious about North Korea's attack on Yeonpyeong Island. Economist John Galbraith, in “The Age of Uncertainty,” said that humans are more insecure when the future is uncertain. In Joshua Lipman's novel 'Peace of Mind', a young man made a wish to an old man. The first is health, the second is wealth, the third is beauty, the fourth is talent, the fifth is power, and the sixth is honor. The old man said, "Honey, even if you have all these things, you can't enjoy anything unless you have peace within you." Henry Ford, the king of automobiles, lived a long life and was active until old age. The secret to his health is moderate exercise, food, and peace of mind, and he said that among them, peace is the most important. In a survey conducted at an elementary school, the children who did well in school had a peaceful home, and the children who did not do well had a poor home. Family peace is the foundation for children's growth. The foundation of a truly blessed life is peace.

Second, peace comes when you take refuge in God. Popular talent Choi Jin-sil had money and fame, but there was no peace. So, unable to overcome the raging storm, he committed suicide. To enjoy lasting peace, you must learn to avoid God. Wouldn't it be safe to take shelter in rocks or caves when it rains and winds in the mountains in winter? Chicks hide under the hen's wings when the cold air hits them. Even if a young child cries because of the hot stove, it is comforted when held in the mother's arms. When we face the storms of life, the way to find peace is to hide in the arms of God. David fled into God's arms when he was tired and anxious in body and mind due to the enemy's attack. So I prayed like this. “O Lord, who saves with your right hand those who take refuge in You, from those who rise up and strike you . . . Guard me as the pupil of the eye, and hide me under the shadow of your wings” (Psalm 17:8). David finds stability in God's arms and gains new strength to win the war. Because God's embrace is the safest place in the world, there you will find peace and new strength.
