Sermon Text I Genesis 5:21-24 Enoch was sixty-five years old when he had Methuselah.
After begot Methelah, he walked with God three hundred years, and had children.
He was three hundred and sixty-five years old.
Enoch walked with God, and he was not in the world, because God took him.
Sermon content
Genesis 5 gives the genealogy of the descendants of Adam.
People at that time usually lived to be 900 years old, and Methuselah, the longest-lived, lived to 969 years.
Many people lived long, but there are only records that they lived and died after giving birth to children.
But Enoch
“He walked with God, and he was not in the world, because God took him.” are recording
Enoch, the 7th generation descendant of Adam, had Methuselah at the age of 65 and walked with God for 300 years.
He was a man of faith who ascended to heaven.
Lesson
1. Evaluation of Eternal Life and Immortality
Genesis 5 teaches us to condense and evaluate only two kinds of values, which are worth hundreds of millions of dollars.
One is eternal life, the other is death. If from afar we cross all values and live forever
If it is drunk and perishes forever, no matter how many people get drunk and like it, it must be thrown away.
2. Methods of Eternal Life and Eternal Death
There are countless ways to live life.
But if we divide the means in two,
One is that there are countless ways to surrender to God and live according to human beings, all powers, and material things, away from the guidance of God, and this is the way to eternal death.
Another way is to walk with God as God leads everything.
A way of eternal life and peace.
Enoch walked this step and walked with God.
3. Rejoice by Faith
Enoch received the testimony that he was pleasing to God.
It is said that without faith it is impossible to please God,
Before Enoch is transferred to the kingdom of heaven, God must exist and to those who seek God.
He walked with God for 300 years, believing that he is a rewarder.
4. God's Judgment
Jude 1:14-15 says, “Enoch, the seventh son of Adam, prophesied also of men, saying, Behold,
The Lord has come with thousands of his holy ones, to judge all men, and to destroy all ungodly
Every ungodly deed done ungodly, and every hard work that is against the Lord of ungodly sinners
that he might condemn them for their words.”
Enoch preached the gospel and warned of God's judgment against ungodly sinners by setting an example of faith and walking with God.
Godliness is God's and living according to God's will for God. All ungodly things are destruction, and all godly things are eternal life.
5. Eternal life by walking with God
Since it is said that the wages of sin is death, all who commit a crime die.
But Enoch did not see death and was transferred to heaven.
Just as Jesus walked with God, overcame death, was resurrected and ascended into heaven, so
It also shows that if we walk with God, we also have eternal life.
Let's walk with God like Enoch and become those who have eternal life.
