forever Friends

Matthew 28:20, Hebrews 13:5,6

Do you have a true friend who can change your life? We live in a time when true friends are rare. If you look at the words of John 15:13-14, you will find a truly enchanting expression. “Greater love has no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends, if you do what I command you.” It says that Jesus is my friend.

Jesus promised to be with us forever.

Jesus tells his disciples to go and make disciples of all nations. Then Jesus added the following words: “Behold, I am with you always, even to the end of the world.”

In John 14:16 it says, “I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Comforter, that he may be with you forever.” Jesus said that the Holy Spirit, the Comforter, will dwell in us. The original word for the Comforter is ‘parakletos’ (called kaleo next to para), which means “one who is called to be beside and who is with us. The Lord is still with us today as the Holy Spirit. Jesus promised to be with us forever. That is why the Lord is our eternal friend. The Comforter, the Spirit of Jesus, does not just dwell in us;

Jesus promised never to forsake us.

When the Christians of the Early Church were living their faith in hiding due to extreme persecution, the writer of Hebrews promised them this. “I will never forsake you, nor will I ever leave you” (Hebrews 13:5). When our faith weakens, don't we also turn our backs on the Lord and go into the world? But the Lord promises Yuri that he will never leave. In English, it is 'never'. Jesus is the eternal friend who never forsakes us.

Jesus promised to always help us.

Look at Hebrews 13:6, "Therefore we say with boldness, "The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?" These words are quoted from Psalm 118:6-8.

“The LORD is on my side; I will not fear; what can a man do to me?

The LORD is on my side, and he is among those who help me; therefore I will see retribution to those who hate me. It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in men.”

The psalmist wrote this psalm, seeking comfort from God and seeking comfort in the midst of fear of men, among those who framed him and hated him. As we go through difficult times, we may feel abandoned if the help we expect does not come immediately. But God is on my side. help me Even when we are betrayed by people, God never betrays us and never leaves us. Finally, he lifts us up and makes us victorious. Folks, when you feel injustice and pain and when you feel that no one is by your side, take refuge in God.
