Title: Eternal Life and Wealth
Contents Hymns/ 349, 353
Introduction
Dear saint! In Mark 10:17-31, Jesus saw him, and loved him, and said to him, "You lack one thing; go, sell all that you have, and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me." (Mark 10:21). Our attitude toward riches has a profound relationship with eternal life. If you gain wealth, you lose heaven; if you throw away money, you gain heaven.
First: The young man who had the wealth (Mark 10:17-22)
Second: Disciples who forsook their wealth (Mark 10:23-31)
When he said that it is very difficult for the rich to enter the kingdom of God, and it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven, the disciples were astonished and asked what would happen, since they had left everything and followed the Lord. Jesus said that those who have given up their houses, families, or lands for the sake of the Lord and the gospel will receive 100 times as much as they gave up in this present time, but also persecution, but he assured us that no one will not receive eternal life in the life to come.
conclusion
Dear saint! What have you given up for the Lord? Wealth can be an obstacle on the way to heaven or a guarantee to enter the kingdom of heaven. If you gain wealth, you cannot catch heaven, and if you throw away money, you can gain heaven. -Amen-
Prayer: Our Lord Jesus Christ! Help us not to lose our way to heaven because we are blinded by riches.
