Title: Eternal Life and Wealth
Contents:
In general, if people value the most in the world, it is probably life and wealth. To explain the text, a rich young man bravely came before Jesus through the crowd. And he boldly asks Jesus a question. It's not about simple academic issues or the weather, but about eternal life.
Today, this young man has nothing to envy in the world.
He was young and rich, a ruler, and a morally respected character. He seems to be leading a relatively successful life.
This rich young man is longing for eternal life.
This young man seems vaguely hoping that these external conditions will bring him eternal life. In fact, this rich young man is a young man who does not even know what eternal life is. Eternal life cannot be obtained by one's own efforts or by any one's merits.
This rich young man went home with only one more serious concern, let alone eternal life. This is in stark contrast to Zacchaeus. This is because Jesus said, “Sell what you have” and “Give it to the poor.” Today, many believers come to church and their worries only increase. alcohol! tobacco! worldly pleasure! Serve! Pray in the morning! Preach! Tithing!
Eternal life is what you get when you give up all these things.
Because the price of eternal life comes from the Lord, which cannot be compared with anything. After the rich young man returned with a worried face, he said, “It is more difficult for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven than for a camel to go through the eye of a needle.”
consider the principle
do you want to be high? Be low Do you want to be treated? Treat others. Do you want to be served? Be a servant. Do you want to save your life? Be the one who lays down your life The most precious thing in life is life.
Let's throw everything out of our hands and respectfully hold on to the Lord. The most precious thing is life. But this eternal life comes only from Jesus. Therefore, even if you give up power or material things, I hope that you will become saints who receive and serve Jesus, who is eternal life.
