Evangelism

Col 4:2-6

As the Christmas season approaches, I think of the Salvation Army charity pot that appears on the streets. Based on the saying that Christians are spiritual soldiers, William Booth formed a military-style group that developed into the Salvation Army. One day, King Edward VII of England invited William Booth to the royal family, congratulating him on his charitable work, and asking him for his wish with a promise that he would do everything he could as a king. Then he said, “Your Majesty, what I want is to save even one more soul. This alone is my hope, my ambition, and my greatest joy.” He worked hard to help the poor, but his ultimate concern was the salvation of souls. Now, on December 25th, on Christmas Day, we will prepare a theme service with the theme of “family” and lead our loved ones to the Lord. I hope that it will be a holy start for soul evangelism when we ponder the words of the text given to our community last week. How can you lead the souls of your loved ones and neighbors to the Lord?

1. We must pray that the opportunity for evangelism will be opened. (v.2-3a)

“Also pray for us, that God may open the door for us to preach”

(v.3a)

2. We must speak boldly the mystery of Christ. (v.3b-4)

“Ask that you may tell the mystery of Christ, that I am bound for this.

I suffered.” (v.3b)

3. We must give the opportunity of evangelism through a sacrificial life. (v.5-6)

“Toward strangers, act wisely and save time. your words are always gracious

Even in the middle with salt. Then each person should

Let me know what you will answer.” (v.5-6)

The Lord said to His disciples, “You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth” (Acts 1:8) . Opening up opportunities for evangelism, boldly telling the mystery of the gospel, and sacrificing yourself for souls are all works of the Holy Spirit. For this work, let us once again pray to the Lord on our knees. It is your prayer that saves a soul who is more precious than the world. Hallelujah!
