Sermons for Preaching

Title: Everything has a deadline (Ecclesiastes 03:1)

Content: “Everything has a deadline, and there is a time for every purpose to be achieved,” and referred to it in a contradictory manner. This teaches us that everything in the world has its time, and that it also has its own meaning.

1. It is God who has appointed the time.

God has been alive from before eternity and is the all-powerful God who provides, dominates, and operates all things in the world until after eternity. Therefore, God has ordained the operation of the universe, the process of life and death in the natural world, and the necessary time and time for all human affairs from his sovereign standpoint. Because God knows everything, he can predetermine it, and because God is omnipotent, he can carry out without any setbacks.

God's time is perfect and definite.

2. It is God who changes the times.

In the Bible, what God has ordained and proclaimed has been changed in the course of its implementation. For example, after 40 days, the destruction of the city of Nineveh was declared. On the other hand, he sent Jonah to warn of the destruction of the city, rebuking the people for their sins and urging them to repent. However, the people of Nineveh repented after hearing Jonah's preaching, so in the end, the plan of destruction 40 days later was canceled and not done. What we need to realize here is not that God did not know that the people of Nineveh would repent, but that God knew it and planned to cancel it later, but he did not announce this to mankind. If God had not known the things ahead of him, he would not have been an all-knowing God. God never changes, either today or forever.

3. Times and seasons are God's authority.

As Jesus appeared and was about to ascend to heaven on the eleventh time after His resurrection, His disciples asked, “Is this the time to restore the kingdom of Israel?” Jesus answered, “It is not for you to know the times and seasons that the Father has set with his own authority. " he said. He is the only commander to do what we have to do, but at that time, it was the disciples' job to receive the power of the Holy Spirit and become a witness of the gospel to the ends of the earth. The time of Jesus' second coming is completely under God's authority.

Conclusion: Therefore, we must believe that every day and every time and period of history are executed according to the will of God.
