Title: Evidence of Received the Holy Spirit
Content br> How can I know that I have received the Holy Spirit?
What is visible is clear whether I have received it or not, that is, whether I have it or not.
It's clear whether you received a gift from your mother on your birthday last week or not. For the gift is visible, and the visible is received from the visible mother with her own visible hands. So, if you ask the person if he received a gift from his mother last week, if he doesn't lie, he will say with certainty that he knew and received the gift. Also, if you ask what gift you have received, you may be able to answer specifically about the gift you received. The gift is a t-shirt, what color is it, where is the manufacturer, what country it is made in, etc. I will answer as I know. They may also show you the gift they received if you ask if you can show them.
But the Holy Spirit is a Spirit. The spirit is invisible. The Holy Spirit has no form, no color, no size. You can't show it even if you ask for it. So, when people ask if they have received the Holy Spirit, those who do not fully understand “the fact that they have received the Holy Spirit” cannot give a proper answer. Not only that, he doubts whether he really has received the Holy Spirit or not, and as a result, he is even deceived by strange words and actions under the guise of the Holy Spirit.
It is very important to know and be sure that you have received the Holy Spirit. This is because, along with “receiving the Holy Spirit,” it is the foundation of our life of faith and the foundation of fellowship with the Holy Spirit and the filling of the Holy Spirit.
How do we know that we have received the Holy Spirit?
First, you can tell the truth.
Second, you can tell by the fruit.
Being able to know with “facts” means that the fact itself is evidence of receiving the Holy Spirit if the Bible says “how to receive the Holy Spirit” without lies.
For example, according to the word of God, Acts 2:38 (“Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit”), If he realizes that he is and repents, he can know that he has become “a person who has received the Holy Spirit” by himself.
The Bible says that the Holy Spirit is given to those who hear the gospel and believe in Jesus (John 7:37-39, Gal 3:1-2, Gal 3:5). If we have believed in the Savior and Lord, the fact that we have believed is proof that we have become “those who have received the Holy Spirit.”
Even if we do not see any strange phenomena in our eyes, we do not hear strange sounds in our ears, and there are no visible supernatural phenomena in our bodies, we are those who have received the Holy Spirit. I will consider it later, but it is not the work of the Holy Spirit that strange things are seen, heard, and strange supernatural phenomena occur in the body.
If you do not deceive yourself, there is no more convincing evidence than this one. What more convincing evidence could there be than the fact that it came about through the words of Jesus and obedience to the words of Jesus? “Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen” (Hebrews 1:1).
All the ancestors of faith obtained evidence through faith (Hebrews 1:2).
Second, by the fruit, we can know that we have received the Holy Spirit.
Jesus said the importance of the fruit and the sure evidence of it.
“Do you know them by their fruit? Do you pick grapes from thorns or figs from thistles? In the same way, every good tree bears good fruit, and a bad tree bears bad fruit. It cannot bear fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Therefore you will know them by their fruit” (Matthew 7:16-20).
Keep in mind the words, “You will know them by their fruits” (Matthew 7:20).
Those who have not received the Holy Spirit have their own fruits that have not received the Holy Spirit. Those who have received the Holy Spirit also have their own fruit of receiving the Holy Spirit. The fruit cannot be deceived. There are invisible and visible fruits for those who have received the Holy Spirit. The invisible fruit is the fruit of the soul, and the visible fruit is the fruit of life. Regarding the invisible fruit of the soul, the Bible tells us in Romans 8:1-17 and Galatians 5:22-24.
According to these words, those who have received the Holy Spirit have the fruit of atonement without condemnation.
He soon became righteous.
“There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus” (Romans 8:1).
Those who have received the Holy Spirit have the fruit of freedom from sin and death. There is joy and gratitude for that.
“For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and death” (Romans 8:2).
Those who have received the Holy Spirit have fruit to walk according to the Spirit and not according to the flesh.
“That the requirements of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh but after the Spirit” (Romans 8:4).
Those who have received the Holy Spirit have the fruit of thinking about the things of the Spirit.
“Those who are after the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, and those who follow the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit. The mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace. Not only does it not work, it is impossible to do it, for those who are in the flesh cannot please God” (Romans 8:5-8).
Those who have received the Holy Spirit have the fruit of dwelling in the Spirit. You will soon become a person who has fellowship with the Holy Spirit.
“If the Spirit of God dwells in you, you are not in the flesh, but in the spirit. If anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not of Christ” (Romans 8:9).
Those who have received the Holy Spirit have the fruit of enjoying life as a result of receiving the Holy Spirit.
“And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the spirit is alive because of righteousness” (Romans 8:10).
Those who have received the Holy Spirit have the hope of resurrection as a result of receiving the Holy Spirit.
“If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you” (Romans 8:11).
Those who have received the Holy Spirit overcome the lusts of the flesh as a result of receiving the Holy Spirit.
“Therefore, brethren, as we are debtors, we do not owe the flesh to live according to the flesh. If you live according to the flesh, you will surely die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live” (Romans 8:12-13).
Those who have received the Holy Spirit have the certainty that they become children of God as a result of receiving the Holy Spirit.
“For all those who are led by the Spirit of God are the sons of God. You did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but because you have received the spirit of adoption, we cry, Abba, Father. You testify that you are children” (Romans 8:14-16).
Those who have received the Holy Spirit want to suffer for God's sake as a result of receiving the Holy Spirit.
“If children, then heirs, also heirs, heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, for we must also suffer with him in order that we may be glorified with him. :17-18)
Those who have received the Holy Spirit bear various beneficial fruits in their hearts.
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. There is no law against such things. Those of Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. ” (Galatians 5:22-24)
All these fruits of the soul were unimaginable “before receiving the Holy Spirit”.
Think deeply about these fruits. Please check carefully to see if I have any of these fruits.
What kind of fruits are visible to those who have received the Holy Spirit, that is, the fruits of life?
The fruit of this life means the changed life of the person who received the Holy Spirit, in which the fruit of the soul produced by the person who received the Holy Spirit naturally appeared through his life. Life is visible.
It is the words of Ephesians 5:8:9.
“You were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light, for the fruit of the light is in all goodness and righteousness and truth.”
Before receiving the Holy Spirit, all people were darkness itself that belonged to darkness. But after receiving the Holy Spirit, he became a light in Jesus. The fruit of the light is goodness, righteousness, and truth. Such a beautiful life is manifested in the visible life.
Life that did not exist before receiving the Holy Spirit is a life that appears anew after receiving the Holy Spirit.
