1. Outline of the text
Micah 2 speaks of human covetousness. In particular, it points to the covetousness of the powerful. Chapters 1-7 speak of the suffering resulting from an evil and corrupt leader.
Introduction
1. Recently, an opposition member of the National Assembly resigned from his office. Why? He said it was because there was no way he could afford the political funds. This is very shocking for us. A lot of people are clamoring for each other to become members of the National Assembly, but they quit their job after not completing their guaranteed term.
2. Actually, being a politician doesn't mean you get a huge salary. It's not like it's happening anywhere. But the expenses are enormous. So the question is how to fund that huge amount of money. So politics is bound to fall apart.
3. It can be said that in our country now, hot-waterism and individualistic thinking have reached the extreme than ever before. Why? Because of the fall of the leaders. Because bad leaders stand out more than good and honest leaders. In this text, the characteristics of evil leaders are well explained. How are they?
I. Conspiring evil (1-2).
A. Implement what you planned for the night the next day.
1. Originally, only God can rule over human beings. Humans have no right to rule over other humans.
2. So God did not grant a king until Israel requested it. Because he knew the evil of the leaders.
3. Every leader needs strength to overcome Satan's temptations. Satan always puts people first to achieve his ambitions. Too often, people who were previously humble and honest become completely different people once they become leaders. It is truly an uncommon situation.
4. They say that they do not sleep at night and study how to bully others. And as soon as the day dawns, it is put into action immediately.
B. Let's not envy those in power.
1. There is an old saying that there is no age of 10 years. Although this word has been out of line in modern times, it is meaningful. Power is like catching a floating cloud.
2. We love gambit so much. So, only when a few people gather, a president is created, and vice-president and secretary positions are created. There are battles like this everywhere. Even if you invite people, people with a sense of humor are more popular. It is truly a “symptom of strife.
3. Moreover, even if it's a local council or a regional council, the chiefs of this land who like to fight are more fussy. The person who actually had to do it was pushed back.
4. What have they done for us so far? Let's see if he wasn't trying to exercise a sense of privilege with a brawl that's the size of a rattlesnake. Human thoughts are only evil in the end.
5. Never let the saints have any regrets in the fight. Of course, if you have the skills and are the right person, you should do the right thing. But let's not force it. These days, even church offices try to be mistaken for a sense of courage. That's why big churches even try to campaign. This is also evil.
II. You will be disciplined by God (3-5).
A. Text description
1. God does not tolerate evil man's schemes. He judges Israel, who is tainted with greed. This judgment said that the Gentiles ruled over them. This is like putting a yoke around the neck of a fattened calf.
2. This disaster is a disaster that cannot be avoided by human strength. In the end, all the people must suffer disaster because of the leader's mistake.
B. Application
1. God's judgment appears to us as a disaster in various forms. Volcanoes must explode and earthquakes occur, but it is not a disaster. There is no peace without a flood.
2. Moribae are active in this land. What is a moribe? It is a moribund to take profit without leaving a reasonable profit. The heat of real estate speculation never stops.
3. There is a serious problem in Korea. We are now living in Inama because of the development of the manufacturing sector. However, young people are reluctant to work. No matter what I do, I am full of thoughts of trying to make money.
4. There are more and more people who don't think it's strange to steal someone else's things. This is calamity, this is judgment.
III. Do not fear God (6-7).
A. He despised the Prophet.
1. He tried to shut the prophet's mouth with his power. The truth has been thwarted by those in power as well as by the clergy at times.
2. Not only that, it blocked the truth and allowed false prophecies to flourish. It is always when leaders fail to fulfill their roles that false cults proliferate.
3. The leaders told Micah, “Do not prophesy these and these things.” Because the morale of the people will go down. They were not trying to correct their actions, but rather to shut the prophet's mouth.
4. Without meditation, revelation ceases. Although leaders must realize revelation through meditation, they travel from early dawn to late night to enjoy power. no time to meditate It is an act of ignoring and despising prophecy.
B. Let us all draw closer to the Word.
1. There are many people who prophesy falsely on this earth. They please the ears of the rich. Instead of rebuking those who indulge in self-indulgence, we tolerate and aid in their actions. And cry out for worldly promises.
2. It is a fact that extreme liberal theology and extreme mysticism coexist in the Korean church. Extreme liberalism denies biblical inspiration. They claim that the Bible is also wrong. In some cases, they are more inclined to believe the words of famous theologians than the words of the Bible.
3. There is liberalism and, on the other hand, extreme mysticism. They claim to see something in prayer. He claims to have received some revelation. They deceive the saints and disturb the church. diminish the authority of the word. This was already the case in Micah's time.
4. There are revivalists who set up entertainers on the pulpit and make jokes and swear under the guise of preaching, and there are pseudo shepherds. Rather, these people try to despise those who speak the truth. The truth must be evidenced only by the truth. It cannot be evidenced by an evil form. We must remember the saying to cast away even the appearance of evil.
conclusion
1. If the leader is corrupt, the hope of the nation is cut off Satan's temptations never cease for leaders. That is why leaders need to be more vigilant.
2. The side effects caused by the fault of the leader are truly enormous and frightening. Isn't that the biggest problem facing society right now?
3. When a leader falls, the Word is persecuted. The truth is not proclaimed in the church, only plausible stories and success stories are emphasized. Preaching is essential in sermons. However, illustrations that are inconsistent with the truth of the text are Satan's ploy to please the ears. Let go of even the appearance of evil.
