Title: Example of Faith
Contents
Today I want to talk about the example of faith. What is a bone? What does it mean to be imitated or not to follow? Why is the bone important? Here, bone means the root. The root means the root. Today, in my sermon on the example of faith, I will emphasize and explain the two roots of the example of my faith. It is a biblical faith, a historical faith. Biblical faith refers to the roots of the Old Testament and the roots of the New Testament. In Ephesians it is said that you are built on the foundation of the prophets and apostles. The Old Testament prophets and the New Testament apostles both point to one person, Jesus Christ. Historical faith is a matter of where I stand in the 2,000-year history of Christianity. In the course of 2,000 years of history, there are orthodox and heretical. What separates orthodoxy from heresy? Where is the line that takes the teachings of the prophets and apostles as an example of faith? is to do
If you choose Heavenly Gate Church and worship here, you have chosen to follow the example of faith in Heavenly Gate Church. It is the decision to walk the path of faith by eating the bread of life that God gives through the pulpit of the Heavenly Gate Church. Then we need to know exactly what Heavenly Gate Church is taking as a model. What is the policy of the candidate that determines who will be voted for in the presidential election? Policies are revealed in their commitments, so it is not advisable to vote for a candidate without knowing what the candidate's commitments are. Likewise, in preaching this pattern of faith today, I will explain to you as clearly as possible the pattern of faith I hold.
The Apostle Paul boldly calls for support of ‘my model’. Because there were many other models that were not the model of the Apostle Paul's faith at the time. Paul said something about his model of faith already at the beginning of Chapter 3. I gave a sermon on the topic of ‘Revolution of Values’. Before knowing Jesus, he raced and ran with the goal of his own origin and his own success. In other words, the example of faith Paul had before meeting Jesus was the Pharisees. What is the core of the example of the Pharisees' faith? Success. The example of faith he saw before his eyes must have been the highest-ranking high priest of his time. Or perhaps he was the supreme leader of the Sanhedrin.
That is, it is a religious success and revealing one's name. With all zeal and all zeal and all work, Paul said I should succeed here! This was an example of faith. So, he said that he was circumcised on the 8th day after birth, that he was of the tribe of Benjamin, that he was born, and that these things were important. Then I met Jesus. After meeting Jesus, the pattern of one's faith changes.
Will you be recognized by the world and sprint on the road to success? Will we receive the approval of our God and run on the basis of honesty and trust? In these two models, Paul says he abandoned the success model. Your biblical model of faith is believing in Jesus and succeeding in the world, not this. The fruit of biblical faith is to live separately from the world and bear abundant fruit of life. Deciding to live by a biblical model is difficult at first. If you do not live according to the world and live according to the Word, people will hate you at first. No, I want to say this. These days, the saints are terrified before the world hates them. I'm afraid of people I don't believe in.
If I act differently from them, I won't be able to survive! Of course, it is not easy to live in harmony with lies if you decide to live separately from the rest of the world and live with your whole body blocking the penetration of lies into you. People may find it difficult at first to live with honesty, truth, and insight, because something good in moderation can't be changed to something good. However, if we make a decision and consistently live on that path for a while, the way we live will surely show an impact. So it's absolutely competitive. People around the world think that it is normal for a married couple to become bored with each other after 10 years of marriage, to lose love and live with only obligations left. However, if you live your family life according to the biblical model, even if you live 10, 20, 30 years, you will continue to show deep trust and love.
When we live our life of faith, we need to pay attention to the forefathers of faith that will be the model of biblical faith. There are three people in particular who I follow as an example of my faith. I take Caleb from the Old Testament as my example of faith because my weakness was introverted and passive. Caleb's character is enterprising and consistent. I like Caleb who doesn't back down from Kadesh-barnea. That's when I was 40. He was selected as one of the twelve spies, but only two Joshua Calebs are progressive in their faith. God uses them both. When he conquered the land of Canaan in Numbers 14, Caleb again sets an example with his forward-looking faith. I am determined to climb the highest and most rugged mountain in the Hebron Mountains. I am 85 years old then. Now I'm old enough to step back, Caleb says, I'm old and I'm weak, but if God is with me, I'll go up to that mountain and plant God's banner. This is an example of my faith.
Another, I take David as my example of faith. You will remember I preached a lot about David. He is the best at relying on God. Fleeing from Saul in his youth
