Title: Jesus' Prayer
Contents:
The text is that the disciples chosen by Jesus are begging, ‘John the Baptist taught his disciples to pray, so we also need to teach them prayers’. So, at that time, Jesus taught the disciples and all the saints of the coming generation how to pray is the Lord's Prayer we speak of.
In verse 1, Jesus set the example of prayer, and verses 2-4 teach the content of prayer.
Today, I would like to talk about the prayer method of Jesus, who set the example of prayer. Prayer is not something we do with our mouths, but prayer is a concrete act that we do with our body and mind.
Jesus' example of prayer
Pray at any time.
He prayed as he met the dew at dawn, when all things were asleep, and he prayed in the evening as well. In fact, in the Middle East, activities start at 5pm even when no one is seen during the day.
You prayed through the night. Even the saints sometimes need the experience of praying through the night in a chapel or a mountain.
The Lord prayed everywhere.
Believers should pray regardless of time and place.
It is the Lord who prayed even on the mountain. He also prayed over five barley loaves and two fish in the field. He prayed at the riverside, he prayed at home, and he prayed at the tomb of Lazarus.
We Christians should have the habit of praying wherever we are in the world as a place of prayer.
He also made a decision to do important things.
Mark 1:12-13 ▷ Fasting and prayer for 40 days before the start of public life
Luke 6:12-13 ▷ Pray before choosing the 12 disciples
Luke 22:41-44 ▷ Before the cross
Luke 23:34 ▷ Pray even on the cross
The Lord prayed alone and was with us.
The Lord prayed in every way.
He knelt down and raised his hands in prayer.
