Title: Exodus 16:4~15 Know the LORD
Introduction
: Life in the Red Sea and the Wilderness - Trials experienced by believers when they set out for the promised land (Exodus 13:17-18:27)
The purpose of life in the wilderness revealed in the New Testament is
① God has ordained it as an example for those who believe
② To teach how we can get through all the trials, problems, and tribulations of life in this wilderness-like world.
If we do not learn from Israel's failures in the wilderness, our lives will be a much greater tragedy.
6 crises in the wilderness
① Crossing the Red Sea (Exodus 14:1-31) ② The bitter waters of Mara (Ex 15:22-27) ③ Grievance and disobedience (disbelief) (Ex 16:1-36)
④Thirst (Ex 17:1~7) ⑤War with Amalek (Ex 17:8~16) ⑥Moses' heavy work - Jethro's help (Ex 18:1~27)
The third crisis in the wilderness - resentment and disobedience (disbelief) (1-36)
When the supply of aquaculture, the most basic need, faces serious difficulties, people
① Blaming the weather, natural disasters, or God ② Blaming the environment, government, economic situation, farmers, employers, etc.
“Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you” (Matthew 6:33).
He will satisfy the needs of the resentful people (16:4-15)
1. Jehovah's proclamation - raining down the bread of heaven (4-5)
One). Food will be provided from heaven (4)
The only way to feed two or three million people for 40 years in the wilderness is through a miracle from God.
This is the way the people of Israel should look (contemplation).
As God Himself feeds them, He will feed them in such a way that there is no doubt about His existence, love, and care.
2). God will test their faith. (4)
I tested it in two ways:
① He commanded us to gather only our daily bread.
: Testing your trust in God through limited food
② On the sixth day, he was commanded to harvest double the amount of food.
: Testing the obedience of the people - Will this day also go out for food?
