Title: Exodus 31

Content  Exodus 31:1-11 (35:30-35)

In the construction of the tabernacle, God not only prepared all the materials by hand, but also appointed engineers to take charge of the work. The engineers were Bezalel and Oholiab. God will fill them with the Spirit of God and make them work. The technicians were tasked with making the tabernacle, so they could not do it arbitrarily or voluntarily, but they had to make it as God commanded (verse 11) by the Spirit of God (verse 3).

God's work is something that those who have received the Holy Spirit can handle it. Not only was Jesus conceived by the Holy Spirit, but he was also led by the Holy Spirit to the end so that he could completely obey God's will.

After obedience, he promised to send the Holy Spirit as he ascended to heaven and poured out the Holy Spirit as he promised. It means that the Lord's work on this earth cannot happen without the Holy Spirit. At this time, the work of the Lord does not refer to the work of the church as it is commonly said. The work you do in Christ, and the work you do in Christ, has to do with the promises of God.

The Holy Spirit came and said, “He will glorify me, because he will take what is mine and make it known to you” (John 16:14). The work of the Holy Spirit, then, is focused on “my glory,” that is, the manifestation of the cross of the Lord. By making the cross known to us, He always leads us in the truth, that is, into Jesus.

Therefore, any work cannot be said to be the work of the Holy Spirit unless it is related to the revealing of the cross, which is the glory of the Lord. No matter how many things such as speaking in tongues, prophesying, and healing happen, they must have something to do with the cross.

To be related to the cross is not simply to talk about the cross of the Lord, the cross is not related to the cross. In Galatians 5:22 and below, we see the fruit of the Spirit. The fruit of the Spirit is not what we produce, but as verse 24 says, the things that spring out when the Spirit is crucified with our flesh and its passions and desires. to be.

After all, what the Holy Spirit reaps is “eternal life” (Galatians 6:8). Even today, the work of the Holy Spirit, who works to reap eternal life, is being carried out without any errors or gaps, so that the glory to be returned to the Lord is being returned as it is. Those who accept it by faith are believers and churches.

Exodus 31:12-18 (35:1-3)

Here again he is telling us to strictly observe the Sabbath. The word about the Sabbath is already given in 20:8-11 and 23:12-13. Nevertheless, at this point, what is the purpose of re-emphasizing the Sabbath?

Considering that it is a conclusion given in connection with the construction of the tabernacle, it is said that the observance of the Sabbath was that the people of Israel should never break the Sabbath even when building the tabernacle. In other words, since the tabernacle is oriented toward rest, if the meaning of God's covenant on rest is not revealed while building the tabernacle, the tabernacle itself has no meaning to Israel.

Verse 18 concludes by saying that God gave the tablets of stone to Moses himself. What happens to the stone tablets (words of the covenant), written by God Himself, we naturally pay attention to in chapter 32 and below.
