Experience God in the Seat of Suffering
Exodus 15:22-27
The Israelites were searching for water in the desert until they reached Mara. Water was sought from Mara, but it was bitter and could not be eaten. It was a place of suffering. However, in their place of suffering, the Israelites met God. And they find a spring of water and a palm tree in Elim.
1. It means that you can experience God in the field of suffering.
No one likes pain. Everyone wants to avoid pain. Maybe it's just trusting in God to avoid suffering. But there are times when we suffer. But the question is, when we suffer, why should we suffer for what rather than the pain itself? It hurts us more when we suffer without knowing the meaning of pain. It makes me tedious. No matter how severe the pain, if we can know the meaning of it, we can overcome it. Then why did God let the Israelites experience the bitter waters of Marah? It is to experience God. In the field of suffering, we can meet God. When you meet God, you have faith in God. It is through faith that we become strong through suffering. In 1 Peter 5:10 it says, “The God of all grace, who called you in Christ to his eternal glory, after you have suffered for a little while, he himself will restore you, establish you, strengthen you and establish your foundation.”
2. After suffering, you will reach the place of blessing.
