Title: Experiencing Jehovah
Experiencing Jehovah
“Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is he who takes refuge in him” (Psalm 34:8).
This text records some of David's hard life before he ascended to the throne. Saul was abandoned by God and became a completely different person in body and mind. In the end, Saul, jealous of David, released an assassin to kill him, and David became a hopeless fugitive. An order was issued to arrest David throughout the country, so David fled to the king of Gath. David ran away and hid to avoid Saul's pursuit, but even there, feeling threatened, David slapped his leg at the gate in front of the king, spit on his beard, and pretended to be a psychopath. He escaped the crisis and ran into the wilderness.
At that time, David overcame that crisis and wrote Psalm 34 in the title. Rather, he tasted and knew the goodness of God in the most painful time of his life. So I wrote this poem while experiencing the great love of the Lord and the wonderful grace of God. God shows Himself to us when we are at peace and when we have the good things we want, but more often than not, when heartbreaking and difficult things happen to us, rather, through such situations, It is to make you realize about the existence and disposition of God that you did not know.
God trained David so thoroughly. In the midst of trials and tribulations, he focused his heart on God and taught the poet a new disposition of God that he had not known before. That is the “goodness” of Jehovah. The goodness of God means that you are good and that the purpose for which you created the world is also good. In God Himself moving all things in this world, man can contradict man, but God cannot contradict God. Therefore, God is good, and the purpose you set for yourself is good, and he is also good when he moves all things for that purpose. In the end, to taste and know the goodness of God means to know and firmly believe that God is good, that God’s purpose is good, and that God moves all these things and all the providential processes that move us are good if God is doing them. will be
As we live the life of faith, there are times when we do not live the life of faith as we would like it to be. Sometimes it's confusing, sometimes temptation comes, sometimes we fall into temptation, sometimes we despair, and sometimes we find ourselves in a confusing situation where we don't know how to get through this challenge. If you keep only two facts deep in your heart then, you can win in any situation. The first is that God is good no matter what happens, and the second is that 'the good God guides us to the word of God.' is enough to get out of.
Today the poet speaks to people. ‘Taste and see that the LORD is good.’ Here two verbs are used together. It is the word ‘taste’ and the word ‘know’. ‘Tasting’ means ‘experiencing’. The most important thing in faith is to experience God directly. Christian faith is transmitted through such a process when a person who has experienced the truth of who the Lord is through the correct knowledge of the Word of God can taste the same through the work of the Holy Spirit when teaching the Word. So the vitality of this Christian faith lies in experience. When people desperately experience what God is like based on correct knowledge, people do not easily let go of the God they have come to know through faith.
God spoke to the people of Israel. “I will also forsake you, so that you will never again become a kingdom of priests.” This was the most terrifying word God had spoken to the Israelites. What was it for? The prophet Hosea says: “Because you have rejected knowledge, and because you have rejected the knowledge of God, God will also forsake you, so that you will no longer become a kingdom of priests.” It is an important tool for living a good life.
That is why many people in the world pray to God today, but the most pleasing prayer in the Lord's heart is the prayer to want to know you. All problems in life have to do with knowing God. When we face hardships and trials in our lives, we look to God. At that time, God melts our hearts, and in the midst of that pain, when we surprisingly know who God is, we can see the solution of life. The situation hasn't changed, but after realizing who God is, I can see a road I couldn't see before, and I realize which way of life I need to navigate. In doing so, you discover the love of God that you did not know before, and that is a taste of God's goodness.
Dear saints, we must grow in faith. That growth comes with clear knowledge and a very clear understanding of who the Lord is, so because of that knowledge, you will love the Lord more and more and want to live God's will. This is spiritual growth. So, until the moment we die, what we have to do is to know who the Lord is. I hope that you will come to know who the Lord is, to grow in His grace, and to taste and know the Lord. 2010-03-17
