Luke 18:1-8, 2 Timothy 4:1-8

1 Jesus told his disciples a parable that meant that they should always pray and not lose heart. 2 “In a certain city there was a judge, who feared neither God nor respect for man. 3 There was a widow in that city, who went all the way to the judge, saying, ‘Find my right in my adversary. .' 4 The judge refused to listen for a while, but after a while he said to himself, 'I really do not fear God or respect man, 5 but this widow bothers me so much, so I need to find her right. If I don't, he will keep coming to me, and he will make me unbearable'" 6 said the Lord. "Listen to what this unjust judge has to say. 7 Will God not seek the rights of his chosen people, who cry to him day and night, and will he ignore them and leave them alone for a long time? 8 I tell you. He will find their right, but when the Son of Man comes, will they find faith in the world?"
1 I solemnly command you before God and before Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, by his appearing and his kingdom. 2 You proclaim the word. Whether the opportunity is good or bad, keep trying. Rebuke, rebuke, and exhort while patiently teaching to the end. 3 When the time is come, people will not receive sound instruction, but will gather teachers according to their own desires to hear what pleases the ear. 4 They will not listen to the truth, they will listen to concocted stories. 5 But be sober in all things, endure hardships, do the work of an evangelist, and fulfill your ministry. 6 The time has come for me to shed blood as an offering, and the time has come to depart. 7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 8 Now there is prepared for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that day, and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.
