Title: Faith and Happiness
Text: Numbers 14:4-10, Hebrews 11:1-7,
“Happiness is to let go of the thoughts that give birth to dissatisfaction and to accept the gift of heaven. It’s about letting go of the desire to have more and making what you already have the most valuable.” This is a quote from Norman Vincent Peel's 'Bible Power'. In fact, I read it with the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, and I wanted to apply it to my life. It is because I think that if you build up training under this slogan, your desire for happiness will be fulfilled. This motto for happiness is not only for me, but also for all of God's children, so I decided to put it in the newsletter. The Bible, written by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, is a book written for our happiness (Deuteronomy 10:13). This is a book that helps you discover and overcome the causes of unhappiness (2 Timothy 3:15). It is a book that trains you to become a perfect person and perfect behavior (2 Timothy 3:16,17).
The way to happiness quoted in ‘Bible Power’ teaches the above words. ‘Thoughts that give birth to dissatisfaction’ and ‘greed to have more’ are qualities that need to be repented of. They are the seeds of misery. These are gestures of unhappiness. Habits of unhappiness. Even after believing in Jesus as the Christ, the temperament and habits of the old life still remain. His status has changed along with his faith in Jesus as the Christ (John 1:12), but life is not yet suitable for his status. So, you have to train the life you take on your status. It is the training of living in accordance with the faith. It is called the life of becoming like Christ, the life of learning Christ (Ephesians 4:20-24). It means “put off the old man that follows the old customs... and put on the new man.”
The ‘new person to wear’ is expressed in ‘accepting the gift of heaven’ and ‘making what you already have the most precious’. When people who have come to believe in the love of God revealed through Jesus Christ put into practice this motto of happiness, there are words of faith that come to mind. There is a saying that Peter and John, who were filled with the Holy Spirit, said to the lame man at the gate (Acts 3:6). These are the words of Paul admonishing the church in Corinth (2 Corinthians 13:5). Today's Old Testament text (Numbers 14:4-10) and New Testament text (Hebrews 11:1-7) are available. There is another verse from the book of Hebrews. “Do not love money, but be content with what you have. He himself said, “I will not forsake you, nor will I ever leave you” (Hebrews 13:5). Let's take a look around in these words. Other God's gifts will also stand out. Faith and happiness are in direct proportion. It is also synergistic. Let it be an autumn of increasing faith and happiness training.
