Title: Faith and Word Study
Faith and Word Study
Text: Romans 10:14
“How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?”
What is Faith? Faith is accepting what God has said and having confidence that He will save and protect us. A sinner can never be saved without faith. Therefore, it is very important to know what faith is. When the Bible speaks of faith, it refers to personal trust in God.
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified freely by the grace of God through the atonement that is in Christ Jesus” (Romans 3:23-24).
1. Where does faith come from?
Faith is a gift from God. Therefore, it is never achieved through our efforts or good deeds.
“By grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God” (Ephesians 2:8).
2. Who is the object of faith?
The Bible introduces Jesus Christ as the object of true faith. Only faith in Christ is true faith, and that is what includes the blessed content of being saved.
“Jesus said to them, I am the resurrection and the life; whoever believes in me will live even if he dies” (John 11:25)
“This is so that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life” (John 3:15).
3. Why do we need faith?
Because we are sinners, we cannot have a right relationship with God. So, only when I believe in Jesus Christ as my Savior can I be righteous and overcome the world.
“Everyone who is born of God overcomes the world, and this is the victory that overcomes the world, our faith” (1 John 5:4).
4. What are the rewards of faith?
True faith is rewarded. If you confess your sins and accept Jesus Christ as your Savior and accept Him with your heart, you will be saved.
“Without faith it is impossible to please God, for he who comes to God must believe that He exists, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him” (Hebrews 11:6).
“Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ” (Romans 5:1).
5. What is important in faith?
Faith is looking from God's point of view. (Faith frame) Living according to my will from my point of view is not a life of faith. Without knowing God, you cannot love God and you cannot please God. Therefore, faith is knowing God. Knowing God is the only way to live according to God's will.
“Eternal life is to know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent” (John 17:3).
In order to know God, we must study the Word diligently.
“Therefore, let us know the Lord, let us strive to know the Lord. His appearing is as unbreakable as the morning light, and he will come upon us like rain, and like the latter rain that waters the earth” (Hosea 6:3).
If you do not know God and are indifferent to God, you will perish.
“My people perish for lack of knowledge; because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being my priest; because you have forgotten the law of your God, I will also forget your children” (Hosea 4:6).
To realize how much I know God, what kind of person is God? Please write
(1) God is a God of love and mercy.
(2) God is a just God;
(3) God is all-powerful God.
(4) God is the same yesterday and today.
(5) God is pleased with the prayers of the honest.
(6) God is our hope and our joy.
(7) He is a holy God, a faithful God, a God of righteousness and fairness.
(8) God is good and He is a very good God who wants to bless us.
(9) God hates idolatry and sin.
(10) God sent His only begotten Son, Jesus, to save us. ...
Usually, when people are full and have abundance, they do not seek God and do not seek to know God. Job knew God through suffering and confessed this.
“But he knows the way I go, and after he has tried me I will come out as pure gold” (Job 23:10).
We need to know God to grow our faith, to know who we are, to realize our vocation and life goals and path, and to know what God likes and dislikes, and what sins are. We can not be deceived by false teachers and heresies, we can lead our neighbors in the path of righteousness, and we can live obediently to God's will. Therefore, we must always keep close to the Word and do not be lazy in studying the Word.
‘Blessed is the man… but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night (Psalm 1:1, 2)
“But Jesus said, “Blessed are those who hear the word of God and keep it” (Luke 11:28).
Let's sing 200 hymns (235 chapters) 'The sweet and mysterious words' together.
1. The sweet and mysterious word The word of life is the precious word Truly, the word of life clearly shows my way and faith.
