Title [9.3] Faith at Work
Content > (Hebrews 11:6)
Let's look at the words of Hebrews 11:6 that God gives us today. “Without faith it is impossible to please God, for he who comes to God must believe that He exists and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” This means that God values our faith more than anything else. The Bible divides faith into two main types.
First, it is ‘faith to be saved’.
There is only one way a sinner can be saved. It is only possible through faith. Acts 16:31 says, “Believe on the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.” That is, the only way to be saved is through faith through Jesus Christ. There is no other way by which nothing can be saved. You believe that you are saved through Jesus Christ.
Second, ‘I have faith.
In other words, this can also be called ‘faith receiving answers’. What the Lord was looking for was faith. The power to accomplish the Lord's work is not achieved through being smart, wise, and powerful, but only through faith in the Lord. I would like to divide this ‘faith’ into three broad categories.
First of all, faith is the size of a mustard seed.
In Matthew 17, Jesus goes up the Mount of Transfiguration with Peter, John, and James. At this time, a child possessed by a demon appears to the nine disciples waiting at the bottom of the mountain, but the disciples cannot heal the child. When Jesus came down from the mountain and healed the demon-possessed child, the disciples asked why they couldn't heal him. Jesus rebukes the disciples for having little faith and tells them that they will lift up this mountain and move it to that mountain with faith the size of a mustard seed. The important thing to remember from these verses is that the Lord asks of us to have great faith, but that doesn't mean we ignore the faith of a mustard seed. Please remember that a mustard seed is very small, but it has tremendous power so that you can experience the work of God.
Second, less faith.
There is certainly faith, but the work of faith does not appear, but rather, it is the image of people who are frustrated and complaining about even the slightest difficulties and worries. Through the words of Jesus rebuking the storm, the disciples woke up Jesus, who was sleeping in the storm, as if he were going to die right away, despite Jesus being with him. Even though he had been with Jesus and had many experiences, he could not trust Jesus in the face of the storm. Aren't we like this too? Looking back on us, I pray that now you will always trust in Jesus and become a victorious faith.
Lastly, ‘great faith’.
In Matthew 15, when Jesus went to the provinces of Tire and Sidon, we see a Greek woman chasing after her to the end and begging for the healing of her demon-possessed daughter. Seeing the woman who does not give up and clings to the end, Jesus says, “Your faith is great.” Immediately thereafter, the woman's daughter is healed. I believe that those who do not give up and depend on the Lord to the end are people of great faith. Even though our eyes and ears cannot see or hear anything, I pray in the name of the Lord that you will have “great faith” like the Greek woman who trusted God to the end.
