Title: Faith in Christ Jesus
Contents
As it is written, “Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen, for by this the forefathers have obtained evidence” (Hebrews 11:1-2). With the crucifixion, the reality is that the body of sin will be destroyed and the body of sin will no longer be enslaved to sin.
Therefore, those who have received the evidence that Christ lives in them through faith in Christ Jesus, who have received the evidence that Christ lives in them, say, “I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. To live in the midst of life is to live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me” (Galatians 2:20).
This is like the words of Christ, the Son of God, who said, “Behold, I and the children whom the Lord has given me are a sign and a type in Israel, from the Lord of hosts, who is on Mount Zion” (Isaiah 8:18). The words “signs and types” are the same as the proof, “Be imitators of me, just as I am of Christ” (1 Corinthians 11:1).
Therefore, all children who, following signs and types, have the reality and evidence by faith in Christ Jesus, say, “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. It is to live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”
Faith in Christ Jesus is faith in God, the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ, before the foundation of the world, our Lord Jesus Christ.
It is written, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with all heavenly blessings, who chose us in Christ before the foundation of the world, that in love we might be holy and blameless before Him. According to his good pleasure he predestined us to be his sons through Jesus Christ, to the praise of the glory of his grace, which is freely given to us in him whom he loves” (Ephesians 1:3-6). Same thing.
Therefore, the son who was sent in the name of the Father said, “I am the true vine, and my Father is the farmer. You are already clean by the word I spoke to you. Abide in me, and I in you. Just as the branch cannot bear fruit of its own accord unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you are in me. I am the vine, and you are If he is in me, and I in him, this man bears much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. Unless a man abide in me, he throws it outside like a branch and withers it. It is thrown and burned” (John 15:1-6), testifying of the faith that is in Christ Jesus.
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has passed away; behold, the new has come” (2 Corinthians 5:17). If anyone is in Christ the Son of God, he who is in Himself, the eternal life of God the Father, is there to inherit eternal life.
For this reason the Son, whom God the Father sent us in his own name, said, “I have given them the glory that was given to me, that they may be one, as we are one. I am in them, and you in me. You exist so that they may become one, so that the world may know that you sent me, and that you loved them as you loved me. Father, the one you gave me is with me where I am, and you have saved me from before the foundation of the world. I want them to see my glory that you have given me because you love me. Righteous Father, though the world did not know you, I knew you and they knew that you sent me. I made your name known to them, and I will make it known, so that the love that loved me may be in them, and I in them” (John 17:22-26).
“By the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus, imitate the right word that you have heard from me, and keep it, and keep the good things that have been entrusted to you through the Holy Spirit who dwells in us” (2 Timothy 1:13-14) Amen, thank you Lord.
