Title: Faith in Entrustment (Hebrews 3:1-9)
Contents
Last Supper ③ Faith in trust (Hebrews 3:1-9)
Today is the third word about ‘entrustment’ to ‘sovereign faith’. Faith is said to be trusting in God.
Depending on how much you depend on God, you can know a person's faith. The Bible teaches us what not to depend on and what we should depend on. How do you make this choice? According to it, whether it be a person, an organization, a church, a people, or a nation, the word will be fulfilled.
First of all, there are three things you should not rely on.
① It is an idol (Deuteronomy 7:5) ② It is a man (Psalm 146:3,4 Mic 7:5 2 Corinthians 1:9) ③ It is wealth (Proverbs 11:28, Matthew 6:24) But there are things that we must rely on. It is only God (Deuteronomy 10:20, Psalm 115:9)
In this way, a Christian can live a life of faith only when he has the discernment of what to rely on and what not to depend on every moment. The characteristic of a person who trusts in God is that he entrusts everything to God. Dependence and surrender are the same history. A person who does not trust God is a person who does not depend on God. (Matthew 6:31, Luke 12:39)
I believe in God, but why do people stumble and fall into temptation? Why are you anxious with worries and worries and worries?
(Hebrews 12:1,2) The way to get rid of heavy things and the sins that easily entangle us and to fully look to Jesus is to trust and trust in God. Then, how do we live the life of faith that we entrust ourselves to? How should we act if we want to live with trust in God?
First, we must think deeply about Jesus (verse 1).
What do you think about trusting and entrusting to God? is important People act according to their thoughts. The grace given to people is a conceivable blessing. However, according to the Bible, there are two kinds of thoughts. It is the mind of the flesh and the mind of the spirit. (Romans 8:5, Romans 8:6,7, Romans 1:21, Philippians 2:4-8) Do you understand why we must think deeply about Jesus in order to live in trust? Because if you don't meet Jesus, the world looks noble and you trust the flesh.
A person who lives by faith in sovereignty and trust is a spiritual person. A person who does not think of earthly things (Philippians 3:19, Col 3:2), does not think evil thoughts (1 Tim. 6:5; 1 Corinthians 13:5), and does not think like a child (1 Corinthians 13:11). Look to Jesus. (Hebrews 12:1-4). If you think deeply about Jesus, you can trust Him.
Second, we must find a noble person (verses 2-4).
When people say they entrust themselves to someone, they can't entrust them unless they are trusted. People's lives are either happy or unhappy depending on what they entrust to them. But finding someone to trust and trust in this world is not so easy. It's hard to find someone to whom you can entrust yourself and your own without confusion in your mind.
In the text, the writer of Hebrews introduces God's way of entrusting us through the story of Moses. While showing this case, Moses is also a valuable person, but it teaches us that the one who made Moses is even more precious.
Have you met the most precious person in your life? Is it true that you have been born again? It is whether I have met someone who can entrust everything to me. Not as an Egyptian prince or a shepherd in the wilderness, but have you ever climbed Mount Horeb to face God and confessed, “Here I am”. This is the reason we need to meet God.
God wants you to confess that He is God. If you do not know God, you cannot trust Him. You must leave Egypt to meet God.
love is only one Makes you love God Forsaking Egypt is not a misfortune, but a blessing and a new start in my life. The trust of entrustment is to meet a noble person. He is God.
When I say that the most precious person is God, my purpose changes. direction is established Priorities are clearly established. Those who confess their existence before God are entrusted to them.
Third, we must hold fast to the confidence and pride of hope (verse 6).
To “entrust” is certainty. If you have entrusted something, then you will not be shaken. There are times when people want to go back to the past or pause for a moment when a crisis comes or a situation they can't handle. But God commands us to go forward.
Again, in verse 6 of the text, we are told to “hold fast the confidence and the boasting of hope to the end.” This is the faith of those who live trusting in God. What should I catch?
① Jesus is our hope (Colossians 1:27) ② Jesus is our confidence (Ephesians 3:12) ③ Jesus is our pride (Galatians 6:14, 2 Corinthians 10:17)
If you put your hope in Jesus, are sure that Jesus is with me, and live proudly in Jesus, then you are clearly people who are good at living a life of faith. The faith of entrusting us is a blessing that allows us to cast off all burdens and sins that tend to entangle us and live with joy and emotion. Leave everything to God. Come to Jesus and lay down your toil and heavy load. (Mark 10:27)
God wants to use us as he uses Moses. God puts us through a process of entrustment to make us ready. A person who has matured in faith is a person who completely entrusts his past, present, and future to God. Faith is giving up. Psalm 37:5-6 “Commit your way to the Lord, trust in him, and he will do it, and he will make your righteousness shine like the light of the day, and your justice like the noonday light.” I hope that God's blessings will overflow through your trust of trust.
