Title: Faith is proportional to prayer
Faith is proportional to prayer (John 14:13-14)
Salvation is the total grace of God.
It is not something that happens because we cultivate our good deeds or ways, but we receive salvation through atonement through faith in the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. Because of this, he said that he cannot boast of this salvation.
Romans 3:27 “Where, then, is there room for boasting? There can be no way, by what law, or by works, but not by the law of faith.”
Right faith is bound to receive blessings, overcomes the times, wins, and receives God's grace, and as a noble person in history, becomes salt and light to the world. Our Christian faith is rooted in the truth of the Bible and has the highest value to overcome the world as a religion that leads a blessed life by living well according to the ideology in our lives.
How important is prayer in your life of faith?
How does prayer relate to faith? I would like to consider the point.
1. Although my prayer life is not enough, can it be said that the life of faith is good?
When it comes to prayer, it does not mean that you have to pray in the morning every day to lead a prayer life. It can lead to a more faithful prayer life, but even if you miss early morning prayer, you can pray at home or at work. One of the things that can be questioned in our church is that we are lazy in our prayer life, but we say that we have good faith.
We find some contradictory questions of believers in the church.
1) People who donate a lot but lack prayer
2) People who do good service but lack prayer life
3) Those who attend worship services and meetings well, but lack a prayer life
or vice versa,
1) A person who seems to pray a lot, but is stingy about offerings
2) A person who is good at prayer but is not good at volunteer work
3) A person who is zealous in prayer life (living prayer, etc.)
We lack prayer, but we prefer people who are ahead of the curve. The problem is that the work of the church and the attitude of the saints must have a spiritual spirit, but if you don't, you can become a religious and cultural person.
Those in the second group who pray a lot but lack practice are like hypocrites.
It is easy to be branded as a believer who only talks and does not act. It is best when the prayer life and the religious life in practice are in harmony.
The Bible firmly emphasizes the act of faith.
James 2:20-22 “Do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is in vain? 21 Was not our father Abraham justified by works when he offered up his son Isaac on the altar? 22 You see that faith is He worked with his works, and his faith was perfected by his works.”
Matthew 23:3 “Therefore, whatever they say, do and keep it, but do not imitate what they do, for they speak only and do not do.”
What must be done in order to realize the right behavior of a believer?
In the end, without a life of prayer, knowledge is useless, and in the end, we become hypocrites.
At the time of Jesus, the scribes and Pharisees were hypocrites in prayer. At the entrance of the market, I prayed to show off to see people, but I did not tell God about it. That is why the Lord taught us earnestness and earnestness to go into the closet and close the door to pray.
There is no mention in the 4 Gospels that the disciples who were with Jesus during the three-year public ministry of Jesus prayed diligently. They were the ones who slept without praying with the Lord even in the garden of Getnemane. So there is no scene in which their religious act seems so competent.
However, after they prayed earnestly in Mark's upper room and received the filling of the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost, the act of faith was faithfully manifested, and miracles and the spread of the gospel took place, resulting in a revival of 3,000 or 5,000 people.
Therefore, even if you do various kinds of loyalty without prayer, the work of God's divine grace will not happen to you. When we say we will donate because we have money and miss the time of prayer, are we truly dedicated to God? Or is it a show off? I can't help but worry.
If you are faithful in your prayer life as a saint, even if you are poor, you can show the power of being with God as you pray for the church and for your brothers. Conversely, if you don't pray but pay money, money will be used, so cultural history is possible, but the church that uses that culture will not be able to receive divine grace from God. It cannot be concluded that it is the history of God.
At the time of Jesus, Jerusalem Castle was a building that had been painstakingly built for 46 years and showed a golden, splendid appearance, so everyone liked it, but Jesus foretold that the city would collapse because the people entering and leaving the temple had the wrong mind. lost
When Israel gathered to God and had the heart of prayer and repentance, He saved them from their enemies and gave them victory. However, when they served the world or lived a life of greediness and not asking God, you can see in the Bible that they were cursed and became difficult.
When our personal life of faith is also faithful to our prayer life, we will be faithful in all aspects of our faith life. However, if you are lazy in your prayer life, you are not confident and anxious in all your religious life.
2. A Christian is a person who will be blessed through prayer
God has given two guidelines for action that God wants Christians to follow. One of them is to live according to the truth and ideology of the Bible and to receive blessings through prayer.
The secret to being blessed is to first live according to the universal ideology of believers. Salvation is a work of grace through God's total works, but blessings are the result of works we will get by practicing.
Among the contents of the action to be blessed, life is chosen in the spirit of the universal truth of the church under the spirit of the Ten Commandments, and living biblically with a church-centered way of thinking, and also allowing us to receive amazing miracles and grace through prayer do.
People know that they just have to live a hard life, but the Bible says that living like that is a way to live when you do not believe in God.
Text, John 14:13 “Whatever ye shall ask in my name, I will do it, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.”
Matthew 7:7-8 “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.”
If you pray earnestly, pray a lot and work hard until the answer is given, anyone can receive blessings. Even if you don't have anything or you don't have anything to learn, you will be able to make time for prayer even if you're busy.
The way to be blessed is not through theology, nor by simply working hard. We must not only read the Bible, but also pray. Those who receive blessings through prayer do not receive them because they are good. There is no particular reason.
Jacob, who was like a deceiver, also prayed and was blessed.
Even David, who sinned as a king, was called a saint because he prayed endlessly for repentance. Even the indecisive Prophet Nathan was able to carry out God's work because he was certain as far as praying.
It was a matter of prayer that prevented the apostles from exercising their power.
Mark 9:29 "He said to them, "This kind cannot come out by any other means than prayer."
It seems that they prayed diligently in the days of Acts, when they properly witnessed the gospel.
Acts 3:1 “At the hour of prayer at the ninth hour, Peter and John went up to the temple.”
Jeremiah 33:3 “Call to me, and I will answer you, and I will show you great and mighty things that you do not know” Jeremiah 33:3 Of course, the basic life of faithful believers in tithing and other worship should be done evenly. Giving is easier to practice than paying more. Isn't it? Therefore, if you want to be blessed, you want to be able to pray a lot.
3. We must pray for ourselves and pray for our brothers.
If you are lazy to pray for yourself, you cannot pray for your brother, and it is contradictory to say that someone who does not have time to pray for his brother does a good job of serving his neighbor. To the world, we who have become saints have been called light and salt.
The command to be light and salt is to live for the world. If so, it is also a message to pray for our brothers, society, and the world.
It is also expressed as so-called intercession, and in biblical terms, intercession is the word for Jesus. It is a word used because there is no proper expression. Instead, this prayer is the best gift and blessing for the brother.
1 Timothy 2:1 “Therefore, first of all, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people.”
Ephesians 6:18 “With all prayer and supplication, praying in the Holy Spirit continually, watching for this and making every effort to ask, asking for the sake of the saints.”
James 5:16 “Therefore confess your sins to one another and pray for one another that you may be healed. The prayer of the righteous has great power at work.”
In November, when the entrance exam is held, a special prayer meeting is held at each church. At that time, many people pray for their children, but when they advertise that they hold a special prayer meeting together for the problems of the church, not many people gather. Is something inconsistent?
We should not only pray for ourselves, but also for our brothers, the church, and society. It is good that prayers to bless others are answered, and if you pray so hard and are not answered, the Lord will pay you back.
Matthew 10:12-13 “And as you enter the house, pray for peace; 13 if the house is worthy of it, your empty peace will come there; if it is not worthy, it will return to you.”
Day by day, the world deviates from the truth, becomes evil, and returns to anxiety.
But the saints are fortunate to have met the true God. The assurance that God's promises can be solved through prayer while believing and relying on God's promises is a greater blessing. It is distrust and ignorance to ignore this amazing dress of promise. I pray that you and I will be able to enjoy more blessings through a life of earnest prayer.
