Title: Faith is the Word of Christ!
No one can know or believe in God. What do believers say when they say this? You will be puzzled, but there is no surprise. No one can know or believe in God. The reason is that since all human beings are born sinners, they cannot know or believe in God.
"No! Because we believed in Jesus, didn't the blood that Jesus shed saved us from our sins? Isn't that proof that the Holy Spirit dwells within us?" These protests can be argued by even the people of Israel who lived under the law.
To those who made such claims, Jesus said to them, "If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free!" Jesus said to them, "We are Abraham's descendants, and we have never been slaves to others. If not, why do you say we will be set free?"
If we were to translate this to today, "We are children of God who have believed in Jesus and have been saved, so what else do we need to believe?" the same meaning as
At that time, they were considered to be God's people because they were the descendants of Abraham, the father of faith. This is the same principle that Gentiles today are immersed in the perception that "we are all saved children of God because we believed in Jesus and received the Holy Spirit.
However, as we know today, the people of Israel cannot enter eternal life just because they are Abraham's descendants. No matter how well they kept the law (the law of the body), they too were living under sin because their hearts were always in a corrupt state. In order for them to enter eternal life, they must have their sins forgiven. The only way to receive the forgiveness of sins in their hearts is to believe in the Son whom God has sent. In order to believe in the Son, you must realize your sins and confess your sins in front of the Son. At that time, the Son of God forgives sins and takes away sins because he has the authority to forgive human sins. It is called the grace of the Lord.
It is only through the grace of the Lord that man can believe in the Son of God, and only when he believes in the Son can he come to know God because the Father is also with him.
But without going through this difficult process, who can say that they know God, and without going through this process, who can say that they believe in the Son of God? Those who say they know God without going through this process are those who say that everyone knows God in a worldly way. Also, those who say they believe in the Son of God without going through this process are also mistaken for believing what they believe comes from their own thoughts and beliefs. that you know
These people seem to have good faith because they cry out and seek the name of the Lord more than anyone else with their mouths, but when their lives are endangered like a lamp before the wind, they betray as if they ever did. The reason they have no choice but to betray the Lord is that the Holy Spirit may dwell in their souls, but the Spirit of the Son, who is the subject of life, does not exist in their hearts. He betrays him and finds his own way.
Lee Seon-il, the protagonist of the kidnapping of a Korean in Iraq, was a Christian young man who believed in him, but that is how he begs for his life in front of the TV. Some people like to talk about why Mr. Lee Seon-il! It's easy to say if a believer begs for life with such a childish appearance as they die calling on the name of Jesus, but such people too, when such a reality comes upon their eyes, unless they have the life of Christ in their hearts, they are just like Mr. Lee Seon-il. must show the same phenomenon. So, don't be rude to others.
The Jews who lived under the Old Testament law, or the Christians who live under the Holy Spirit today, or they go to the temple (today's church) and perform all kinds of ceremonies (everything including worship), they know that they believe in God, but it is faith. No, it is nothing more than an act of keeping the law as the people of Israel (today's spiritual people). If the sins in a person's heart are forgiven just because they keep the law, their faith will be in vain. Therefore, in that case, there is no need for the Son of God to come, and since faith comes from the law, there is no need for God's grace.
In that case, if humans obey the law, they will be able to reach eternal life. In order to keep the law well, all humans will have twins in their eyes. But if obedience to the law is faith, what will happen to those who break the law? They have broken the law and all must go to death immediately. If that happens, no human being will ever reach eternal life. The reason is that if you obey the law ten times and break it just once, everything you have kept so far will be in vain.
In other words, if it is stipulated by the law that morning prayer is required, we have to pray every day because we can obtain eternal life by obeying that law. So, what will this person be like? Needless to say, he broke the law and must die. a! I'll take a look though! That's the world's voice, and God's law has no forgiveness. But whoever promised that he would enter eternal life by keeping the law. Don't we see in the Bible that a woodcutter who broke the Sabbath died on the spot?
The reason God first sent the law before sending his son is that you must first realize your sins through the law. If you know that if you do well ten times and break even once, everything you have done so far will be in vain and become a sin, it is a fact that no one can attain eternal life under the law. If that is the case, then you must give up trying to achieve eternal life by the law and attain eternal life by the grace of My Son through the Son I am sending.
It is saying that if you wait patiently until the Son is sent, realize your sins through the law I sent, and confess your sins in front of my Son, you will receive the mercy of the Son and reach eternal life.
However, today, many people are unaware of this fact, so they do not interpret the Bible from their own point of view and come to understand themselves through the words of the Bible, but are using it as a tool to condemn others, and they are using it as a teacher as if they were a perfect person. As they are teaching others, the more they go on, the more their faith becomes more and more corrupt, and it makes them fall into the world.
This is a spiritual age. The Lord, who had become flesh in the land of Israel, has now come as a spirit among the Gentiles. Although he has not yet revealed it to the world, he has revealed it in front of you. As for those who use the pulpit, the Lord speaks according to what you have witnessed and experienced, and the Lord is leading this church and you.
What does the phrase "faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ" mean in today's text? That is, when you hear the word of the Lord through the servant of the Lord at the pulpit, when you realize your sins in your heart and confess your sins honestly before the Lord, your sins will be forgiven and you will soon be able to believe in the Son by faith. it means This is faith in the Son. Therefore, it can be said that faith is the most precious gift of the Lord in the world, given by grace when we believe in the Son.
