Title: Faith Like Children
Contents
One day the disciples ask Jesus a question. It was something they were curious about, but it also reflected their interest and thoughts.
“Who is the greatest in heaven?”
Aren't you always interested when people gather? It is similar to the Korean culture that values hierarchy. Then Jesus called the little boy and set him before the disciples.
“Unless you turn and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.”
The disciples asked who was the greatest, but Jesus said that unless you become like a child, you will not be able to enter the kingdom of heaven.
“Now you ask who is the greatest in heaven? Unless you're like a little child here, you can't even get in."
The Bible speaks of two concepts of a child. We warn them to turn away from their weak, shaky, and immature faith as childish faith. However, children have characteristics that only they should imitate adults like them.
1. A child trusts and relies on it.
A characteristic of small children is that they cannot live alone. Parents must take care of them. So the child is completely dependent on his parents. Full trust and reliance. The same goes for faith. When saints depend on God, they need total will, just like a child depends on their parents. It is having faith that we cannot live without God.
Adults must learn to trust from children. Adults do not trust well because of the wounds and betrayals they have suffered. However, the Bible cannot be a child of God without faith and cannot receive eternal life.
2. Children are simple.
The opposite of simplicity is complexity. Adult thinking is always complicated. It is because I have a lot of thoughts about work, but it is also because worries and worries, worries and anxiety are always there. But children are simple. Because it is simple, you can trust and follow it. Simplicity implies honesty and satisfaction. In other words, a simple person is transparent. Don't tell lies. In contrast, the liar's thinking is complex. Because you have to do a lot of calculations. A child can be honest because it doesn't count. You can't follow Jesus after you've done your profit and loss account. You must learn the simplicity of a child.
3. Young children are open-minded.
Young children have a constant curiosity. Always accept with an open mind. For young children, everything is novel, an object of observation and an object of inquiry. In the midst of this, you learn, learn, and grow. However, adults tend to be closed. No more anticipation of something new. So I don't want to learn any more. You have lost your dream. No progress. It is not the nature of heaven to decide who will sit higher. It's about arguing over something useless. Young children are not interested in seats. Believers must have an open attitude before God. We need to pay attention to knowing the Lord more deeply and obeying Him.
I hope that you will become a saint who is completely dependent on the Lord like a child, and who is simple and open-minded and is pleasing to the Lord.
