Title: Faith, Looking to Jesus

content will

p; Psalm 87:1-7, Hebrews 12:2

p; I pray that God's grace and blessings be with you all who come before the Lord today. The center of our faith is Jesus. I have been saved in the name of Jesus, and I live with the blessing of praying in the name of Jesus. It's easy to get distracted by other things while living your faith. There are many times when we lose Jesus because we focus on prayer while praying hard. There are many times when we forget the grace of Jesus because we work hard in singing and singing. There are many times when we say that we are working hard in our faith life, but we do not see the life or trace of Jesus in our soul. In fact, you are getting lost. Therefore, we must make the focus of our faith clear as we think about Jesus, look at Jesus, and put the word into our hearts every day. There is no prophecy about the name of Jesus in the Bible today. But in those words, we see Jesus.

p; Psalm 87 is a song that says that all faith and salvation come from Zion. Even the salvation of the Gentiles and all art come from Zion. ‘Rahab and Babylon, Philistia and Tire, and Cush (4) are words that symbolize the world. That they confess that their source is Zion. ‘Singers and runners’--a term referring to artists. They also confess that the source is Zion. “When the Lord registers the nations, he will count them, and he will say, ‘This man was born there’’ (6). This means that the source of salvation is Zion. Zion primarily refers to the Jerusalem temple, but salvation does not come from the Jerusalem temple, but from God, and ultimately comes from Jesus. Therefore, we think of Jesus through these words.

p; Anything related to salvation is inconceivable apart from Jesus. It is the center of salvation. It is the center of faith. Jesus is the center of prayer. It is the center of praise. It is the center of worship. Jesus is the center of the church. Jesus is the center of our faith. Faith? That is why, in the book of Hebrews, people of faith are always told to look to Jesus.

Let us look to Jesus, the author and perfecter of... Hebrews 12:2

Why should the people of God look to Jesus? In the book of Hebrews, there are two reasons to look to Jesus.

p; First, we must look to Jesus because he is the 'Lord of faith'.

Jesus is the object of our faith. Being a Christian means making Jesus the goal of your life. When you lose Jesus in your faith, that faith is lost. To lose Jesus is to lose faith.

bsp; In the life of faith, experience is important, you must receive blessings, and you must have gifts. But Jesus must be at the center of it. Jesus, who bore the cross for me, and Jesus who is still praying for me at the right hand of God, must be the center of my faith for true faith.

bsp; Jesus is the heart, center, content, and whole of our faith. Faith without Jesus, however great it may be, is just a superstition. The words without Jesus are in vain, no matter how interesting or interesting they are. No matter what we do in the world in the name of faith, it is in vain if it is not for Jesus. So Augustine said that all of our faith should be a finger pointing to Jesus. Because Jesus is the Lord of our faith. So we have to look to Jesus.

p; Second, we must look to Jesus because he is the 'perfecter'.

Jesus delivered us from our sins by the grace of the cross, and He is the One who helps, fills, guides and perfects our shortcomings as children of God.

The prophet Isaiah prophesied about Jesus:

bsp; He ... will not break a bruised reed, nor quench a smoldering lamp... Isaiah 42:2

A bruised reed means useless reed. A dying lamp means a lamp that has lost its effectiveness. It means that Jesus values, cares for, and builds up such people, even those of insignificance. How often do we feel ourselves becoming infinitely small in front of this great world! How often do I feel like a grain of rice in front of such great people! But Jesus does not regard me as such. Anyone who comes before Jesus is a child of God, a life that is more precious than the world, and the one who builds the most beautiful soul. Therefore, we must look to that Jesus anytime, anywhere. Faith is believing in Jesus who does not break a bruised reed or put out a smoldering lamp, and comes boldly before Him.

bsp; Jesus is the Lord of our faith. He is the one who makes us whole. That is why we must always look to Jesus.

p; But what specifically does Jesus do?

p; 1. Thinking of Jesus every day.

bsp; To look to Jesus means to always think of Jesus. By thinking of Jesus, we become more like Jesus. What did Jesus do? What does Jesus say? To admire the life of Jesus, to listen to his words, and to imitate his life is to follow Jesus.

There is a saying that couples look alike. Because we think of each other every day. Because we look at each other every day. When we think of Jesus, we become like Jesus.

p; 2. It is to meditate on the words of Jesus every day.

Jesus? is to meditate on the words of Jesus in your heart. The life of faith is to set yourself up before the words of Jesus every day. This is how I focus my life and life on Jesus.

Have you ever memorized a Bible verse? Don't just think of easy verses in moderation, and memorize those verses that really become a milestone in my life, empower my faith. It is even better if it is a verse that resembles the Lord. If you recite it every day, I believe that it will be the eyes of Jesus. To meditate on the words of Jesus daily, that is Jesus.

p; 3. Pray before Jesus every day.

Jesus? is to pray. To lose prayer is to lose Jesus. They are not looking to Jesus. Prayer is the surest way to find Jesus. You don't even have to talk when you're in trouble.

bsp; When the disciples on the boat encountered a great storm, they did their best to solve the problem with their experience, talents, and common sense. But the situation was getting worse. Only later did the disciples shake Jesus from his sleep and wake him up. And the Lord calmed the storm.

bsp; Shake and wake the Lord who is sleeping in your hearts. That is prayer. It?s the Lord? Praying to Jesus every day is for the Lord.

p; How often do I forget that I am a Christian and that I am a man of God in my busy life? So, if I rush to the church, the worship service is already over and I am thrown back into the world without opening my soul, so I can't live with faith like cold rice. Please do not tie your faith to the church alone. May life be your faith. Let us all think of Jesus at least three times a day. Let's all call on Jesus three times a day. 'Jesus is my Lord. Give me strength in my life.' This kind of faith turns our hearts toward you. This kind of faith is what keeps us filled with the Holy Spirit. This is faith in the Lord.

bsp; His home is in Seongsan 1

This is the first verse of today's text. Our life, our faith, our worship, our foundation is Jesus. May the wonderful grace of the Lord be with you as you look to Jesus and make you whole.
