Title: Faith of Moses/Numbers 16:12~21
Content 26. Moses' Faith
Numbers 16:12-21
In response to the rebellion of Korah and his party, Moses proposed a judgment before God. However, Eliab's sons Dathan and Abiram, who had joined Korah's rebellion, exercise veto power.
“I will not go up to the sanctuary. You brought us out of a land flowing with milk and honey to kill us in this wilderness, and now you are giving orders? Are you our king? You have not brought us into a land flowing with milk and honey, nor have we inherited our fields and vineyards. are you trying to make us fools? We will never go up.”
Moses felt deeply indignant that Dathan and Abiram's rejection was a serious challenge to God's sovereignty and rule. So we ask God to judge what is right and what is wrong. “God, even if Dathan and Abiram bring their offerings, never accept their offerings. I did not cause material exploitation or physical harm to the people. But I am a dictator. I was only faithful to my duties as a minister and steward. Do you know? Please God Himself solve this problem.”
On the other hand, Korah and the party were confident in their claim, so they accepted Moses' proposal and each went to God with a censer. “Come on, everyone! Now let’s punish Aaron and Moses before God.” “Yes. Let us judge those dictators today.”
It was this time. The glory of God rests among them. “Moses and Aaron leave these congregations now and immediately. I will destroy them.”
When encountering someone trying to destroy a church or territory, the leader will be tempted to treat him the same with human blood. But like Moses, we must persevere and come to God. Because the Lord will surely distinguish between right and wrong.
