saint's faith
1 Peter 1:3-12
Henry Ford, the car king, didn't even get out of elementary school, but he had assets that were second to none who graduated from the highest school. It was an enterprising dream for tomorrow. His motivation for creating a car was that he saw a carriage one day and had a dream of making a 'car that can go without a horse'. After all, Ford's wife was a man of faith. So, 'The King of Cars' was a 'joint work of dreams and faith'. After the couple died, people built a memorial and made these inscriptions. "Ford is a man of dreams. His wife is a man of faith."
One of the most important things in the life of a believer is faith. Faith is our most precious spiritual asset for all the days we live by believing in Jesus Christ as our Savior.
Faith is made up of two components: believing and trusting.
You believe the bank can keep your money for you, but you don't exercise faith in the bank until you put your money in the bank.
You believe that a train can take you somewhere, but you exercise your faith in a train only when you get on the train and trust it to get you to your destination.
Alexander the Great had a good doctor who accompanied him in all his battles. Someone jealous of the doctor wanted to get rid of him. So the man wrote to Alexander the Great that the doctor was planning to put poison in Alexander the Great's cup one morning. The man thought that Alexander the Great would have the doctor executed immediately.
But at the end of the meal, Alexander the Great read the letter to the crowd and took a cup and drank from it to show that he believed the doctor. It was faith. He trusted the doctor and trusted him.
The gospel is that simple. Anyone who believes everything the Bible says about Jesus puts his trust in Jesus for his soul and eternal happiness.
Faith is also called believing heart or faith. Especially in the Bible, trust in God is called faith. If there is anything God requires of the Israelites, whether they were God's chosen people, or of us Christians, who became God's own people through Jesus Christ, starting with Adam, the first man in the beginning, it is probably to trust God completely, to believe.
In the Old Testament, when the Israelites did not trust in God, they worshiped foreign idols and fell into sin (Amos 4:6-11). They did not trust God, just as Adam, who was the first ancestor of mankind, disobeyed God's word and ate from the tree of the knowledge of the knowledge of good and evil. Indeed, the history of Israel can be said to be the history of betrayal against God.
God made the people of Israel who betrayed God proclaim God's love and covenant toward His people through His prophets, but they did not trust God. So, God sent His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, but they did not believe in God's only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, but rather nailed him to the cross and died.
They crucified Jesus Christ because they did not believe in God's love, but God resurrected Jesus Christ out of love for mankind. And if you believe in Jesus Christ in the coming and going generations, you are opening the way to salvation.
Therefore, the gospel of the cross is not a matter of flesh and blood, but a matter of faith. Only if we have faith in the Son of God, we can be saved and become God's own people.
The importance of this faith is contained in the words of 1 Peter 1:3-12 that we read today.
First, it says that you must have faith in order to receive the salvation you have prepared.
As I said before, faith is trusting God. It is believing the word of God. The salvation of souls is through faith in Jesus Christ. There is no other way to salvation than to believe in Jesus Christ.
By God's grace, the Israelites left Egypt. To save them, God sent ten plagues on Egypt to save them. They were excited when they first escaped from Egypt. I was full of joy. However, when they lived in the wilderness, they did not trust God. The people of Israel were filled with distrust and distrust of God. God sent fiery serpents to Israel who did not trust God. When they were in pain from being bitten by a fiery serpent, they again asked God for grace.
God made Moses make a fiery serpent of bronze and put it on a pole. And whoever was tormented by the fiery serpent was healed just by looking at the bronze fiery serpent. It is better to just look, but those who do not believe in the Word of God did not even see.
So is our salvation. You can be saved only by believing in Jesus Christ, but people do not believe because they do not believe the word of God.
In fact, the greatest miracle among miracles is that you and I believe in Jesus Christ as our Savior, whether you believe in Jesus Christ or not.
So it is clearly stated in 1 Peter 1:9.
?쏧n the end of faith, the salvation of souls??Hallelujah!!!
Second, we must have faith to overcome trials and refinements.
There was a son of a poor hawker. They were so poor that they could not stay in one place. The boy had to wander around America with his father. As a result, sleeping was always uncomfortable.
The poor hawker's son learned that a bed is worth ten pounds to a man.
From then on, this poor boy dreamed of starting a hotel business. Although I had no money, I firmly believed in the Bible saying, ?쏤aith is the substance of things hoped for,??and had a dream. Finally, the poor hawker's son built a large hotel in Dallas in 1924, which expanded internationally. That boy was Kondra Hilton, the founder of the famous Hilton Hotel.
Even business people must have faith to succeed in difficult trials and refinements. In the same way, in a spiritual person, having faith can overcome trials and trials.
In fact, it is not easy to believe in Jesus at the time when 1 Peter was written. Believing in Jesus was a reality in which one had to give up one's property or even one's life.
However, the early church members did not lose their faith in such a reality. No, their faith was far more trusting in God than ours today. They dedicated themselves to the eternal kingdom of heaven, not the inheritance of a corrupting world. Despite such belief, sometimes great trials and trials swallowed them up, but Jedol overcame trials and trials with greater faith.
Finally, faith not only wins the salvation of the soul and overcomes trials and trials, but also obtains praise, glory, and honor at the appearing of Jesus Christ.
Hebrews 11:6 says:
?쏻ithout faith it is impossible to please God, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.??
There is a hunting method for catching elephants alive. First, we lure the elephants out of the jungle and put them in pre-made cages. Then, a strong chain is tied to the elephant's ankle, and one end is tied to a strong and thick wooden post. After clearing the cage, the wild elephants make their way back to the jungle. However, a chain tied to his ankle stops him after a few strokes of walking. At first, the elephant tries with all his strength to try to be released from the chains, but he keeps failing and eventually gives up, and even if the elephant is tied to a pole and string that is large enough for the elephant to break and run away, try harder when the string becomes a little tighter. give up. Then the elephant can be trained by pulling the string at will.
The same is true in the life of a saint. When we undergo life's trials and trials, our faith must grow through them. As we receive trials and refinements, our faith does not grow, but our distrust grows. Rather than trusting in God, I do not believe in God. And I am trying to learn to resign
Resignation is an act of renunciation of hope and an act of renunciation of faith. Even if the initial pain or suffering is difficult to bear, if you wait and work with faith and hope, you can eventually overcome any difficulties.
Without faith it is impossible to please God. Without faith, Satan rejoices. But when we have faith, God is pleased and rewards those who have faith. Today's 1 Peter speaks of the reward as praise, glory, and honor.
Pastor George Muller was a man of prayer and a man of faith. Pastor George Muller did amazing things that no human could ever imagine when he was doing God's work throughout his life. His amazing work of God may appear to be very amazing and splendid on the surface, but in fact, it is the fruit of the refinement of faith. It is said that when Pastor George Muller went through the trials of extreme faith, there were times when he had to have six daughters in a row in the midst of the trials of extreme faith.
One time, I was supposed to provide breakfast to the children, but the food ran out. Muller, who believed in God and could not tolerate starvation, laid all the children around an empty table and offered a prayer of thanks.
"God, thank you for giving me breakfast today. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen."
After praying, I opened my eyes, but there was not a single piece of bread on the table. That was the time. There was a loud knock on the door. The person who had a hard time opening the door was a neighbor who managed to come in with a basket full of bread and meat.
?쏛fter paying all the guests until last night, I couldn?셳 control the rest, so I brought them to the orphanage,??he said.
"The only way to strengthen your faith is through the refinement of your faith." is a phrase that Pastor George Muller always used to use. It is impossible to distinguish between true faith and false faith without the refinement of faith. It is only through refinement that faith is revealed as true faith. God refines the hearts of the saints. But the blessing that comes after the pulpit is so bright and wonderful that words cannot describe it.
Dear saints,
The value of saints is more precious than the world. Please believe that the faith of the saints is the channel of the blessing of God's grace as well as salvation of the soul. Without faith it is impossible to please God. We believe that when we have faith, God will give us a wonderful and beautiful reward.
Therefore, we Christians must yearn for faith. Please increase your faith. So, I bless you in the name of the Lord to become a channel of God's grace and blessing in this age.
