Title: Faith that Produces Miracles/Mark 2:1~12
Content: Faith that produces miracles/Mark 2:1~12
Key Verse: “When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, “Son, your sins are forgiven you” (verse 5).
Word: When Jesus was teaching the way of truth in a house in Capernaum, a large crowd came and filled the house inside and out. Most people were fascinated by Jesus' teachings and received great favor, but some were not. There were those who tried to criticize the teachings of Jesus. After all, they say to the Lord, “You are blasphemous.” Those who hold horsetails like this cannot be used by the Lord.
Belatedly, there are crowds running to the place where Jesus is. They brought the paralytic on a stretcher. However, the paralyzed man could not be brought to Jesus because the house was already full of people inside and outside. They broke through the roof and hung the patient with ropes. “Seeing our faith,” Jesus healed a paralytic. Let's find out the cause of the miracle that the paralytic was healed and apply it to our lives.
Miracles begin with ‘oneness’ (2:3~5). If we unite, unite, and unite, we can exert great power. The more they stick together, the more their power grows exponentially. Miracles can also happen. When Jesus saw the unity of his paralyzed friends, he healed the sick. As Ecclesiastes 4:12 says, “If there is one person, it will be defeated, but if there are two, it can be overcome. A threefold cord is not easily broken.” When we unite together, we can win. Wherever we strive to become one, Jesus is with us (Matthew 18:20).
Miracles happen to zealous people (v. 4). The people who brought the paralytic to Jesus did not know the word “give up.” They were positive and enterprising people who said, ‘You can do it, you can do it.’ Where did their unity and passion come from? Love. Because he loved the paralytic, he endured great sacrifices. It showed enthusiasm. Jesus was moved by the passionate and positive thoughts and actions that came out of their love. A person of passion moves even God to perform miracles.
Miracles happen through firm faith (v. 5). His associates were convinced that the only one needed by the paralytic was Jesus. I was convinced that if I went to Jesus, my problem would be solved and I would be healed. So he overcame great obstacles and led him to Jesus. It is amazing and wonderful that not one person, but all of them had the same conviction. The most necessary things in this age are 'love' and 'faith'.
Let us all live a blessed life as believers who produce miracles by having unity, passion, and firm faith in the Lord.
Prayer: Help us to live a life of faith that produces miracles by loving one another. I pray in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
