Title (Sat) Faith to Keep vs Pride to Avoid
Contents
Judas, a servant of Jesus Christ and brother of James, to those who are called, loved in God the Father and kept for Jesus Christ.
May mercy, peace, and love be multiplied to you.
Beloved, while I was eager to write to you about the salvation we received in general, I felt the need to exhort you with a letter to the saints to fight hard for the faith that was once given to you.
For there are some who have come in secretly, who from ancient times were foretold to receive this judgment, who were ungodly, who turned the grace of our God into licentiousness, and denied the only Lord Jesus Christ, our Lord.
You already know all the facts, but I want to remind you that the Lord delivered the people out of Egypt and later destroyed the unbelievers.
And the angels who did not keep their position and departed from their dwelling place were imprisoned in darkness with eternal bonds until the judgment of the great day.
Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities of their neighbors, also acted like them, prostitutes, following other flesh, and became a mirror, being punished by eternal fire.
But likewise these dreamers defile the flesh, despise authority, and slander glory.
When Michael the archangel quarreled with the devil and argued with the devil concerning the body of Moses, he did not dare pronounce a slanderous judgment, but said, “The Lord rebuke you.”
These men slander whatever they do not know; and they perish by what they know by instinct, like irrational animals.
