Title: Faith to maturity

Bible: Hebrews 5:11-14

Starting Point of the Word>>

This time, we would like to share a talk with you under the title of “Faith reaching maturity.”

In everything in the world, there is a process.

And it is natural to grow step by step through the process.

For example, a young child can't even crawl and can't get up and walk.

Also, a child who can't drink milk can't eat rice and meat.

Athletes, too, have to work hard from the ground up to become the best in their sport so that they can become great players later.

Of course, the world often ignores this process.

Some people get promotions at work because of their hard work, while others get high positions by parachuting.

However, we want to see the Word according to the reality of our lives, not the saints who see these exceptional things.

Just as the world's work gets better and better through any process and effort, our lives as saints must also become saints who possess the faith appropriate to the process.

So, as the title of today's sermon says, we must grow into believers who have matured enough faith.

If you look at the words of today's text, it records the words of reproof for the believers who did not grow despite their long religious lives.

As in verse 12,

“Because of the long time, you should have been teachers.”

The writer of Hebrews is rebuking those who have not grown up despite having a long experience of faith.

We should not be rebuked by the Lord for not growing our faith, but we should grow to the fullest level and become praiseworthy saints.

Go to Word>>

So, what is the faith that reaches maturity that we are talking about in today's text?

First, faith to reach maturity means “to be matured in character.”

According to Ephesians 4:13,

“And we will all become one in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God, until we reach the fullness of the stature of the stature of Christ.”

Says.

Also in Philippians 2:5,

“Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus.”

As saints, it means that our personality must be matured by believing in Jesus and following Him.

So, if we look at the life of the saints, Jesus Christ must appear in them.

When I meet someone I don't know well, I introduce myself.

Then you get a response.

“Somehow, he looked like a pastor.”

It really makes me feel good to hear these words, and I am very grateful that they see me that way.

However, there is an opposite reaction.

How do you feel when you hear this answer?

In one word, it's "bang".

As believers, we must live a life that shows the person of Jesus Christ.

The apostle Paul confesses that he has the “heart of Christ” through the words of Philippians 1:7.

Therefore, today we too must live with the heart of Jesus, the heart of Jesus.

In this way, what must we do in order to have a personality that resembles Jesus?

First, we must become believers who learn from Jesus.

As Matthew 11:29 says,

“Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart”

says Jesus.

Next, you must become a saint who is born again by the Holy Spirit.

The Lord has promised the Holy Spirit to those who believe in Jesus Christ.

Those who have the experience of the Holy Spirit and know the grace will be transformed into a life that believes in Jesus.

Therefore, we must learn the person of Jesus through the Word, receive the fullness of the Holy Spirit through prayer, and become believers reaching maturity.

Second, faith to maturity means “growing in faith”;

When we look back on our life of faith, there are times when we experience and confess that we overcome the things of testing that we could not overcome at some point in time.

What's the difference?

It's the same thing, the same situation, and I haven't changed, but I come to realize that there are times when we can overcome trials and times when we don't.

Our faith should be a faith that grows day by day.

Whenever the disciples' faith did not grow, Jesus rebuked them and hoped that their faith would grow further.

Therefore, believers must also grow their faith according to the economy of faith.

What must we do to grow in our faith?

First of all, you must be zealous for learning.

There is a saying, “There is a time for everything.

It is natural to experience many regrets and difficulties if you miss the generation you need to learn.

So Paul exhorts Timothy:

2 Timothy 3:14 says,

“But you learn and abide in the sure things, that you know from whom you have learned.”

We need to learn how to serve God through the Word and learn what kind of faith people of faith live by.

Also, we must become believers who experience God.

If we look at verse 13 of the text,

“Everyone who drinks milk is a child, and has never experienced the word of righteousness.”

Said.

Perhaps the most difficult time for young children is when they are weaning.

However, weaning gradually begins as we encounter new foods and more delicious foods through baby food.

In other words, when you experience the deliciousness of other foods, you can get away with it.

If we have been believers who receive and eat, then believers who have grown up to give, share, serve, and grow in faith can be obtained by overcoming difficult trials.

In verse 14 of the text, it is said that this is “refinement” and discernment between good and evil.

When there are things that put us to the test in our Christian life, if we become the saints who overcome through faith, please realize that we have matured levels of faith.

Finally, faith to maturity means “growth in wisdom.”

According to Luke 2:52,

“Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.”

I did.

We must become saints who grow in wisdom like Jesus.

The words of 1 Corinthians 14:20,

“Brothers, do not be children in wisdom, but children in evil, but mature in wisdom.”

As the saying goes, we must become saints who grow up following Jesus in wisdom.

When I pray, I pray for wisdom for our members, especially elementary, middle, high school, and young people.

Of course, you must also have knowledge, understanding, and intelligence as said in the world, but above all, wisdom is at the center of it, and I think the most important thing is to discover God's will and righteousness.

Our wisdom does not come from the world.

Wisdom is the gift God gives to those who serve God well and who are armed with the Word of God.

We must become saints who pray to obtain this wisdom.

Like Solomon who sought wisdom, the title of the prayer that makes God's heart rejoice is the prayer for wisdom.

At the end of the speech>>

Everyone, we need to check what level of faith we stand in now.

Whether it's a newborn baby, a small child, a young man, or standing in the heights of maturity...

So, our faith should not remain in a certain position and fail to grow, but we must become saints who possess faith to the level of maturity like Jesus.

That is the grace of God given to us today.

Today, I pray in the name of the Lord that all of our members will be filled with the grace to be filled with the glory of God, grace for many saints, and a life overflowing with joy and gratitude as they have the faith to reach maturity. .
