Title: Faith wins
Content: Faith overcomes / 1 John 5:4
The second is prayer. Through prayer we win every fight. “Prayer wins, prayer wins, prayer to the Lord overcomes the whole world” (397). Jesus overcame the temptation of Satan the devil by fasting and praying. “Go away, Satan, and the devil departed from Jesus” (Matthew 4:10, 11). After Jesus cast out the unclean spirits from the child, he said, “This kind cannot come out by anything but prayer” (Mark 9:29). Paul and Silas overcame the jailer by praying in the middle of the night. Jesus told his disciples that they could receive everything by praying. “Whatever you ask in prayer, believing and asking, you will receive” (Matthew 21:22). We, as athletes, pray and play, so we have won many matches and will continue to win many matches in the future.
Third is love. With love we win every fight. “Love wins, love wins, the love of the Lord Jesus overcomes the whole world” (397). Love and mercy triumph over everything. The Apostle Paul confessed that God's love overcomes all things more than enough. “For your sake we are slain all day long, and we are counted as sheep for the slaughter. But in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us” (Romans 8:36,37). It is said that love overcomes fear and overcomes judgment. “There is no fear in love, but the perfect man casts out fear” (1 John 4:18). “Mercy triumphs over judgment” (James 2:13). When we sportsmen run around the world with love, we will be able to defeat all hostile forces with love.
