Title: Faith with Evidence (1 John 05:6-12)
Content The true faith that the Bible speaks of is faith that Jesus is the Christ.
It is the belief that Jesus is God.
This faith will soon become the power to overcome the world.
Still, many people mistakenly believe that trusting their own abilities and beliefs rather than relying on this ability is true faith.
Faith is faith in Jesus as the Christ.
The types of beliefs that are popular these days are swept through the religious world without fear.
They are positive faith, creative faith, and miraculous faith.
These kinds of beliefs are causing many misunderstandings among believers today.
The faith that the Bible speaks of is the faith that Jesus is the Christ.
If you believe that Jesus is the Christ, if you believe that Jesus is God, there is no unresolved problem.
So, the content of today's message is to receive grace while thinking about "faith with evidence" together.
If you have evidence in your faith, you will be able to serve more powerfully and faithfully.
If you have evidence of your faith, you can always smile and live a life of faith.
1, faith with the evidence of water and blood
WATER = as at the baptism and BLOOD = as on the cross
Who testifies that Jesus is the Christ? First, the water testifies.
Verse 6 says, “This is He who came by water and blood, Jesus Christ, who came not only by water, but by blood.”
The word coming down with water refers to the fact that Jesus was baptized with water in the Jordan River by John the Baptist.
In Matthew 3, when Jesus went to John who was baptizing in the Jordan and was about to be baptized, John said in verse 14, "John stopped him and said, "I must be baptized by you, and are you coming to me?"
In Matthew 3:15, "Jesus answered and said to them, "Allow it now, for it is fitting for us to do this in order to fulfill all righteousness." Then John gave it permission.
It is said that Jesus was baptized with water to fulfill all righteousness.
This is to say that no matter how baptized other people are, they are not.
Jesus alone is the Christ and Jesus alone is God.
Then why does Jesus need to be baptized? It is for us who need to be saved.
It is because he came in a human body.
It is receiving what we deserve.
In Matthew 3:16, when Jesus was baptized with water, the gates of heaven were opened.
The Holy Spirit descended like a dove.
There was a voice saying it was my son.
When he was baptized with water, it was proved that Jesus was the Christ.
When he was baptized with water, it was proved that Jesus was God.
Second, the blood proves that Jesus is the Christ.
John 19:34-35 "One of the soldiers pierced his side with a spear, and immediately blood and blood came out. Those who saw it testified, and the evidence is true, so that you may believe, knowing that what he is saying is true."
The blood testifies that Jesus is the Christ and God.
The New Testament book of Hebrews is full of blood.
Blood is the pinnacle of salvation.
It is the atoning work of Christ.
"I washed my heart, which was stained with sins blacker than ink, whiter than snow
Blood speaks ten.
The blood of the cross is the saving blood for the redemption of mankind.
Hebrews 9:22 says, “Without the shedding of blood there is no remission.”
The blood of the cross, the blood of redemption, proves that Jesus is the Christ.
On the day that Jesus was crucified and bled on the hill of Golgotha, the Bible says in Mark 15:39, "When the centurion who was standing facing Jesus saw that he was dead, he said, "Truly this man was the Son of God."
Water and blood testify that Jesus is the Christ.
This Jesus Christ is to come on the day of His Second Coming on the clouds, wearing clothes drenched in blood.
Water and blood testify that Jesus is the Christ.
If you believe in Jesus Christ, the evidence of water and blood, say "Amen"
In John 19:34, “One of the soldiers pierced his side with a spear, and immediately blood and water came out.” The blood and water that Jesus shed proves that it is the Christ.
Do you believe in the blood and water of Jesus Christ that was shed for me?
2, the Spirit testifies in verse 7, “It is the Spirit that beareth witness, and the Spirit is the truth.” Verse 8, “there are three that bear witness: the Spirit, and the water, and the blood, and these three are one.”
Water and blood are not the only proofs that Jesus is the Christ.
The Holy Spirit is witnessing together.
It also says that water, blood, and the Spirit are not all separate, but water, blood, and the Spirit are united into one.
This is the heart of the Bible.
The fact that Jesus is the Christ and the fact that Jesus is God is the key.
Verse 9, “If we receive the testimony of men, the testimony of God is even greater.
The evidence that many people who witnessed the crucifixion of Jesus Christ testify that Jesus is the Christ and the Son of God is also great.
But the evidence of God's Holy Spirit is greater.
From the crucifixion to today, the evidence that millions of people have testified that Jesus Christ is great is great, but the evidence of God is more certain and greater.
3, the testimony with eternal life
Verse 10, “He who believes in the Son of God has the testimony in himself; but he who does not believe in God makes him a liar, because he has not believed the evidence that God has testified concerning the Son.”
He said that he who believes in the Son of God has the testimony in him.
He said that he who has no evidence makes God a liar.
Verse 11 “And this is the testimony, that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.”
Listen carefully to the words of verse 11. He said that God has given us eternal life, and the eternal life that He has given is in His Son.
The eternal life God has given is Jesus Christ.
God has given us today the eternal life that is the life of the Son, that is, Jesus Christ, through the death of His Son on the cross.
If we believe in Jesus, we have the life of Jesus.
When we believe in Jesus, we have eternal life.
To believe in Jesus means to have life itself.
Verse 12 “He who has the Son has life, and he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.”
The difference between whether there is Jesus Christ, the Son of God, is the difference between whether there is life in him.
To put it more simply, if there is a son, he is alive; without a son, he appears to be alive, but is dead.
Is this life of Jesus Christ in you? What is the nature of life? Life grows.
life is power
Life changes.
Life produces.
However, there are some people who have nothing to do with anything like 10 years ago or now.
Such a person may not have the life of Jesus.
I hope that at this time today, I can be sure that I have the life of Jesus Christ in me.
Yes ; There was a very foolish maiden in the country where I lived.
This maiden was a very, very, very foolish maiden who did not know how to hide.
There was a case where I put a baby on his back, but he was distracted by other things and forgot about the baby on his back and threw it away and went out.
At that time, the child who fell on his back and fell out was his son Chang-ho in Seoul.
But somehow, I ended up getting married to a house that wanted a son.
After we got married, we met by chance after a considerable amount of time, and there was no child.
So I asked him, and he said it was his son.
The story I am telling is a story that actually happened.
No matter how foolish it may be, if a life enters it, it will eventually give birth to a baby.
Do you have the life of Jesus Christ in you Do you really have Jesus Christ?
If yes, what is changing right now? Values of life. Recognition of purpose of existence. Words and actions. What changes are happening in me?
Let's all read verse 12, "He who has the Son has life, and he who does not have the Son of God does not have life."
Dear brothers and sisters, I hope that your passion for love gets hotter every day.
I hope that the time of kneeling down prayer can be longer.
I hope that the hard work and dedication you put in will be enjoyable and more enjoyable.
I hope that the waiting for the Lord to come again will become more and more earnest day by day.
So, I pray in the name of the Lord that I can live while confirming that Jesus Christ of God is in me day by day, hour by hour, every moment, every moment, every moment I breathe.
