Christians are witnesses of the gospel. We must faithfully preach and teach the gospel we have heard. Therefore, we must always be strong Christians in grace.
To fulfill your mission as a witness of the gospel, first, you must become a good soldier (verse 3). A soldier is not bound by his own life. To please those who have recruited themselves into the military. In order for a soldier to do his job well, he must have a clear ideology and thoroughly engage in training. You must also be well armed and obey orders. Christians are spiritual soldiers. You will be victorious in preaching the gospel only when you receive strong spiritual training to overcome the fight against the devil.
Second, you must be a player (verse 5). Competitors must follow the rules. If you foul on your own will, you will not be recognized as a winner. At the 1988 Olympics, Ben Johnson overtook Carl Lewis for first place, but was stripped of his gold medal for drug use and was suspended from competition for years. We, too, must keep God's law while living our life of faith. You also need to be well trained. It must be remembered that athletes have had a lot of training and practice. You can become a gold medalist only if you are well trained in your religious life. We need to cooperate well. There are individual competitions as well as team competitions. Especially in team events, you need to cooperate well to win a gold medal. And you have to work hard until the end. We must set Jesus as our standard and run to the end looking to Jesus. If you give up halfway, there will be no medals. You have to put off everything that prevents you from winning, and don't give up because it's hard or difficult, but run with patience.
