Title: Father's Heart (Luke 15:11-32)
Contents
There is one article that touched our hearts in the 70's.
That's the "yellow handkerchief". This is a true story written in Reader's Digest.
The story begins on the bus from New York to Florida.
Most of them are going to Florida beaches, so everyone is excited, but only one person sat with a saliva on his face and no food in his mouth.
This person's name was 'Bingo', so the people next to him are curious and talk to him and ask.
A man named 'Bingo' was imprisoned in New York prison for the past four years, but he has just been released on parole and is on his way home.
Originally, this man was the head of a family with a wife and three children, but after he committed a crime and was imprisoned, he could no longer help his family.
And three and a half years have passed since the letter was persistent. Upon hearing the news of his parole, this 'Bingo' man wrote a letter to his wife a week ago with a glimmer of hope.
If he forgives and accepts him, there is a large oak tree at the entrance of the village where we live, and hang a 'yellow handkerchief' on that tree. I sent you a letter from and I'm on my way.
Upon hearing this, the passengers were as excited as they were, and would the wife accept this man? Meanwhile, the bus gets closer and closer to the village.
20 miles, 10 miles, 5 miles. The passengers get nervous and swallow their saliva.
They cheer and hug each other and dance.
It was because there were not one yellow handkerchief on the tree, but hundreds of yellow handkerchiefs waving all over the tree.
My dear friends! As I prepare these words today, the scene of this yellow handkerchief fluttering won't leave my head the whole time. The reason is because I think that the scene where the father and son are reunited while waiting for the son who has left the house in the text will be like this.
Today's text tells the story of the heart of a father who has two sons.
Still, the eldest son manages to live with his father, but the second son inherits his father's inheritance in advance.
He asks for it to go to a distant country, and there he debauchery.
Then, when he ran out of money, his friends left, and he became a poor man, he took care of pigs as a servant of the house.
I live, but I have nothing to eat, so I eat the rat salt berries that I give to the pigs and wake up late?
I want to go back to my father.
But look at verse 20 of today's text. “He was still a long way off, but when his father saw him, he had compassion on him, and he ran, hugged his neck and kissed him.
It means to see the father facing the return of his son who has left home.
"It's far away" But I recognize my own children.
And not only did he recognize the child, but he knew the expression on his face, "he had compassion."
So I ran and kissed him, hallelujah-
Dear all! Now the father did not see this son with his own eyes when he returned. This is what I saw as ah. Isn't this the heart of our parents?
Do you see your children? Can't you tell by feeling?
Even if the children are on the other side of the road, all of them are facing their children, but the son who has left home comes back. This father's heart can be recognized outside of Dong-gu, so he can see his son from a distance.
So it ran. Then they hugged their necks, kissed them, and looking at verse 22, "They put on the best clothes and the ring, and put on shoes on their feet..."
And slaughter a fat calf and throw a feast. Amen-
So, who did you hate the most when your son returned from home after the preacher preached at Sunday School? I ask...Who are you? Don't you say, 'It's a fat calf...'
Dear all! What do you think when you see this?
Does this second son, who has left home, look like someone else?
Isn't that exactly what we are?
Isn't this 'prodigal' son of English prodigal waste?
If we are wasting time, wasting material, wasting love, we are the prodigal son.
Nevertheless, the father's heart is waiting for such a wasted son = a rebellious son.
There is an article called 'Philosophy of the toilet' by 'Sobaek Oh'.
I felt bored trying to keep the office building alone in the cold winter, so I drank a bottle of soju at the supermarket and fell asleep on the cold floor. But when I woke up in the morning, I had diarrhea.
I grab my lower belly with one hand and the back with the other hand and run to the bathroom, but the water level shuts the bathroom door.
I grabbed it and went to work. How urgently it is, I jump over the company wall and go to the public toilet,
I've been doing chores for a while, and there's graffiti on the bathroom wall. How fun was that doodle?
Read one line. But when I read it in the middle, there is a large letter written on it. look to the right? So look to the right. But this time, do you look to the left in large letters among many letters? So, you look to the left. Then, now you look back in large letters? So, you look back with difficulty. Then, this time, he told me to look up.
So I looked up and saw the large letters on the ceiling saying, "Look, what a shit!" it's been written
So, if you want to poop or poop, you are right when you think about it.
Realizing that 'whenever you are in a certain position, there is a job that fits that position', I wrote the title of the essay book.
I erased it as 'The Toilet Philosophy'.
Dear all! That's right. We need to know that wherever we are, there is work.
So, isn't it that all of you from Suwon Young-eun Church come to worship and evangelize together?
Another thing we should know from the text is that the heart of a father forgives only the second son, the prodigal son
that it is not. Another prodigal son is also the heart of a father who understands and forgives.
Everyone! The eldest son of the text is the real Tangji.
This eldest son is the prodigal son who has lost many things.
He lost his father. He wondered why his father had to weep over his delicious food. Why did you feel cold even when covered with a warm blanket? You eldest son didn't know how happy his father was when his younger brother returned.
Not only that. This eldest son has also lost a younger brother.
When he comes home from work in the field, he sees a scene of chanchi taking place and calls his servant to ask. Then the paper speaks. Your brother is back' Your brother is back.
But this eldest son doesn't call his younger brother his brother. So he tells his father, 'Your son is back,' so he killed a fat calf.
And this eldest son lost himself and his mission.
That is why, in verse 29, “I have served my father for many years, and I have not disobeyed his commands.
But everyone! Has this eldest son ever disobeyed his father's orders?
In the Old and New Testaments, there are two major commands of God the Father.
The first is love of God and the second is love of neighbor.
Everyone! This father must have asked the eldest son to find his brother, but there is no word that this eldest son went looking for his brother. He says he is 'your son' because he has no love for his brother, let alone love for his neighbor, and complains that he has never given me a goat.
What do you say? It's a reward mentality.
Can I give you this?
But this is not the person God is looking for.
Finally, the text of Oml ends with verse 32. That is, it turns off unfinished. Why?
Because God wants us to write verse 33.
To know the heart of the lost father, to know the lost brother, and to know the lost self and mission.
This is the one who knows the heart of God the Father.
God is still waiting for the prodigal son today.
I sincerely pray that you will run into the arms of the waiting father and wear grace and become the protagonist of the crown.
Amen-
