How can I be poor?
Text/ Luke 12:15, 1 Timothy 6:7-10
1. Introduction
A few days ago, while weeding weed in the field, I suddenly thought, “This is very strange.”

Generally speaking, the world's four greatest saints are Jesus of Christianity (Mesopotamian civilization), Buddha Shakyamuni (Indus civilization), Confucius of Confucianism (Yellow civilization), and Socrates of philosophy (Aegean civilization). However, it is the fact that Christianity is dying in the Middle East, the birthplace of Christianity, Buddhism is dying in India, the birthplace of Buddhism, Confucianism is dying in China, the birthplace of Confucianism, and philosophy is dying in Greece, the birthplace of philosophy.
one. Jesus said, Beware of all covetousness, and a person's life does not consist in the abundance of possessions. The Buddha said 貪 (covetousness: do not covet), 嗔 (jin: do not be angry), 痴 (chi: do not be foolish), and did not possess anything. one. Jesus said not to judge (Matthew 7:1). In that sense, I think that those who live well, those who pursue the abundance of possessions, and those who live in poverty, each have their own meaning and fun. But what is truly strange is the fact that the sages, the wise, and the wise teachers all pursued a life of poverty.
2. Lifestyles of people who lived poor lives
If I could write down as I recall the types of lives of people who lived in poverty in the East and the West, from what I have heard and read so far, it is as follows.
*If we had food and clothing, we knew that we were content (Apostle Paul, Anhui). *I went to bed early and woke up early to work on my own. *Being friends with nature, we enjoyed poetry, sentences, music, writing, and painting (Saint Francesco who preached to the birds, Geun-Dam Chae, Do-Kyung Doe, the first son, Yeon-Myung Do, Seven generations of Jukrim, eight generations of Dansong, and Korean scholars). *Christianity - 敬天愛人 (Gyeongcheon Lover), Buddhism - 上求菩提 下化衆生 (Sanggubori Hahwa Middle School), Confucianism - 大 之道 在明明德 在親民 在止於至善), philosophy - know yourself. In other words, he practiced the Way and lived a godly life. He lived with respect for heaven, earth, and people. *Because of negligence in the affairs of the world, food, clothing, and shelter were simple, and human relations were simple. * After reading the scriptures and studying the scriptures, I revealed what I realized by myself as 悟道頌. In a word, we pursued the noble simplicity (Simple Life!).
3. How can you live a life of poverty (voluntary poverty)?
first. Biblically, the basis of a poor life is in Jesus' Sermon on the Mount, where he told us to look at the crows in the air and the lilies of the field (Matthew 6:19-34). Jesus said, “Do not be anxious, therefore, saying, ‘What shall we eat, or what shall we drink, or what shall we wear, for these are all the Gentiles seek, for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.” He said that the issue of survival is entirely God's responsibility.
When we all meet someone who lives in poverty, the first question we ask is, “It is good to live so poorly, but how do we live? How do you educate your children? What if I get sick?” asks. Then their answers are as follows.

In a way, this is an absurd answer. But it's true. What we feel absurd is evidence that we have all been brainwashed into the race for ownership.
second. Will you serve God or serve Baal? From the religious question, are you going to buy a book with 10,000 won or a lottery ticket? Life is a choice, down to the little problems of everyday life. Whether to live a life of competition for ownership or a life of poverty is also a matter of choice. A poor life does not mean that you have become poor because of some way you have lived. Poverty means that each person voluntarily chooses a life of poverty by abandoning the life of competition for survival and possession with their own religious beliefs and will.
There was a nice ad copy that said, “The choice of the moment determines 10 years.” However, it is up to each person to decide what kind of life they choose to live in a life that only comes once, bearing in mind the fact that each person is free to take responsibility for the result.
third. We can be poor when we imitate the deeds of Jesus. Jesus overcame the devil's three temptations in the wilderness (make bread with stones - economic problems, jump off the top of the temple - honor problems, and bow down to me because I will give you all things - power problems) He said that a person's life does not consist in the abundance-honor-power of possessions. Beyond possessions, he first lived for the kingdom of God and his righteousness.
And one more thing to remember in Jesus' acts is that Jesus often went to secluded places, beaches, wilderness, fields, gardens, and high mountains. In other words, Jesus is the one who has deep communion with this heaven and earth created by God.
