Title: How to Get the Leader's Blessing
Exodus (18) The way to get the leader's blessing (Exodus 7:1-13)
1. Cherish Yourself
God makes a shocking proclamation to Moses, who, after receiving the call, pulls back that he is a dull-mouthed man. In other words, Pharaoh was regarded as a god by the people at that time, but God said that he would make Moses like a god in Pharaoh's eyes (verse 1). These words show how amazing the authority of God's mission and those who have the word is. Even if you are weak, you are not weak in God. Always do your best to achieve your brilliant dreams and visions with confidence. If you try to accomplish God's will, you will receive the material, honor, authority, and position that can accomplish that will, and you will eventually become a leader.
2. Don't be afraid of opposition
It would be good for Pharaoh to easily listen to the words of Moses and Aaron, but God hardened Pharaoh's heart for training (verse 3). Don't be too upset if someone like you is evil and opposes you. Even the opposite is a situation God allows. As long as we do not lose faith when someone obstructs a path, God will open a better way for faithful believers in various ways that transcend human thoughts according to their circumstances. Don't complain that it's hard or difficult, but believe in God's good providence and move forward. When we believe that God's good providence exists in all things, the miraculous work of reversal begins there.
3. Obey God's Will
Even if Pharaoh opposes, Moses and Aaron obeyed God's command when God promised that God would give them the final victory and gave them various guidelines for action (verse 6). At that time, Moses was 80 years old, and Aaron was 83 years old (v. 7). They didn't care about their age or circumstances, and they went out looking only at God. In fact, it is the number one secret to success and happiness. David experiences that fact and confesses with a sincere voice. “The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want” (Psalm 23:1). Why is there no shortage? There are many things that are lacking everywhere, but there is nothing to regret. What is the regret of receiving the love and provision of Almighty God?
4. Show your divine power
Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh and threw their staff down in front of Pharaoh and his servants as God had commanded, and the staff became a serpent (verse 10). Then Pharaoh summoned the wise men and magicians of Egypt, and they threw their staff in the same way and made a serpent, but Aaron's staff swallowed them up (verses 11-12). Worldly power means nothing in the face of divine power. Now show your divine power. However, you should not go down the spiritual path of Don Quixote by thinking of divine power only as a miraculous and miraculous power. In fact, the greatest power among the divine powers is the power of the cross to live and overcome death through death.
5 Don't Show Off Your Abilities
Two things to keep in mind when walking the path of a leader. One is ambition. Ambition is the urge to make oneself bigger according to greed. How many human ambitions are wrapped up in the words “I do it because it is the will of the Lord”? Another is pride. A relative of ambition is pride. How many people are intoxicated after success? For them, the applause, flattery, and temptation of people make them lose their senses. Pride suppresses pure spiritual passion and replaces it with showmanship and charisma. Ambition and pride hide in the deep jungles of your inner world, then sneak out of the darkness and ruin your path as a leader. So, try to stay away from pride and ambition.
6. Be patient and wait
Even after seeing the miracles, Pharaoh did not listen to Moses and Aaron (verse 13). And he continued to be stubborn. Don't be discouraged if the problem doesn't go away like that. Rely on God and wait a little more quietly and patiently. The power of waiting is another invisible and amazing power given to those who are filled with the Holy Spirit. When you wait patiently and patiently, God is busy and works for him. In the end, history favors those who are on God's side. Those who walked the path of great leaders had the following confession in common. “Let’s wait! There must be some good will of God here.”
