Everyone wants to live a prosperous life. The desire to live a prosperous life will always be the same. But not all live happily. Only when God allows you to prosper can you live a prosperous life. Joshua, who succeeded Moses as the leader of Israel, was terrified.
I am very confused and anxious about how to lead this people into the promised land of Canaan. Knowing this, God told Joshua not to be afraid and gave Joshua comfort and courage, and told him to be bold.
1. Go to the land given to the children of Israel (verses 2-4).
The land of Canaan is a type of heaven. Until we enter the land of Canaan, we must live by faith.
What is Abraham, the father of faith, said to have gone to when he went to heaven, where there is a foundation that God will manage and build? It is said that he went by faith. is to believe in God. You must believe in Jesus to go to heaven.
Hebrews 11:8 By faith Abraham, when he was called, obeyed and went out to a land he was to receive as an inheritance; and he went out, not knowing where he was going.
Heb 11:9 By faith he sojourned in the promised land, as if he were in a foreign land, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob, who had also inherited the same promise.
Hebrews 11:10 For he was looking for a city with a foundation, which God had designed and built.
He lived by faith looking at the city and looking at heaven. If you want to live a prosperous life, you must live with faith looking to heaven. The forefathers of faith suffered a lot, but only when the soul prospers, all things prosper. He promises that those who live by faith looking at the promised land and heaven will live a prosperous life. A life of disobedience is tears, suffering, and mugwort. be punished suffer He turns you through suffering. Therefore, a life that leads to the land of heaven is the way to success. The suffering is not really suffering. When you live a life where your soul prospers, prosperity will follow you in everything. I wish you such a blessing.
2. He promises to be with you (v. 5).
It is meant to be Emmanuel. to make the heart strong. is not to be afraid. The road to heaven is narrow and strait, but God the Holy Spirit will give you Immanuel. The God who was with Moses said that he would be with Joshua as well.
Matthew 7:13 Go in through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the road is broad that leads to destruction, and many go in by it Matthew 7:14 The gate is narrow and stray that leads to life, and few find it.
God the Holy Spirit will guide you through that narrow path.
Joshua 1:5 No one will be able to withstand you all the days of your life (Victory)
For I will be with you as I was with Moses (Immanuel)
I will not leave you nor forsake you
Jos 1:6 Be strong, be courageous (Do not be afraid of the Canaanites - the devil)
You will make this people inherit the land that I swore to their fathers.
In order to do that, what do you have to hold on to to give you a prosperous life?
3. He tells us to keep all the words of the law (verses 7-9).
Joshua 1:7 But be strong and very courageous, and observe all the law that Moses my servant commanded you, and do it; do not turn to the left or to the right (and you will prosper wherever you go)
Jos 1:8 Do not let this book of the law depart from your mouth, but meditate on it day and night, and observe all that is written in it;
Joshua 1:9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid or be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.
The key word of the text is “if so”. What do you promise that you will prosper?
This is the law that Moses commanded you. The law is the law of how God's people are to serve God.
The basic core word that people who believe in Jesus Christ and are saved must live is the love of God and the love of neighbor. The law of love is the law. Jesus is the Word of God who came in the flesh. John 1:14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld his glory, the glory of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.
Psalm 19:7 The law of the LORD is perfect, reviving the soul; the testimony of the LORD is sure, making the fool wise.
Psalm 19:8 The precepts of the LORD are upright and rejoice in the heart; the commandments of the LORD are pure and open to the eyes.
Psalm 19:9 The way of the fear of the LORD is pure and lasts forever; the ordinances of the LORD are sure and all are just.
Psalm 19:10 They will be desired more than gold, much fine gold, sweeter than honey and honeycomb.
Psalm 19:11 And your servant is guarded with his teeth, and the reward is great for keeping them.
Psalm 19:12 Who is able to understand his transgression? Deliver me from my hidden transgression.
Psalm 19:13 And do not let your servant commit grievous crimes, that sin may not have dominion over me, so that I will be upright and free from a great transgression.
Psalm 19:14 May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable before you, O LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer.
The way and law of the Lord reach to the eternal heaven. That's why he commands us to desire more than money rather than gold. He says that the reward in heaven is great for receiving and keeping this law.
To live a prosperous life, if you obey the word of God, you will be blessed. You must know God's Word to obey it To do this, he said to Joshua today, do not let the book of the law depart from your mouth, meditate on it day and night, and keep it.
When King David made his will to his son Solomon, he told him to keep and obey the Book of the Law. This year is coming to an end. I pray in the name of the Lord that this year, I pray in the name of the Lord, pray and read God's Word closely, and that 2010 will be a prosperous and blessed year.
John 8:31-36 You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.
